12 Foods that will help you say goodbye to bloating

Sometimes, no matter how fit we get, there will be problem areas we just can’t seem to change.

One of the common struggles many women (and men) have is battling bloating.

But worry not! Making little changes can greatly help in getting that elusive flat tummy.

Adding these simple foods into your daily diet will not only do wonders for your waistline but for your health as well!

Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits and Vegetables

We all know fruits and vegetables are packed with fiber and nutrients but some have anti-inflammatory properties as well.

Prime examples of these are broccoli apples, berries, papaya, mushrooms, spinach, and pineapple.

Asparagus and artichokes

Asparagus and artichokes

A regular consumption of both of these encourages the production of acetate, an acid that turns on the fat-burning activity in your cells by helping them recover from inflammation.

You can roast artichoke hearts or asparagus in the oven with olive oil, parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, and a spritz of lemon.

Garlic

Garlic

Studies show that garlic goes after bad, inflammation-causing bacteria leaving the good bacteria intact.

Rich in fiber, it helps your body digest food easily and efficiently and normalizes blood sugar.

Sauerkraut

Sauerkraut

This traditional hotdog topping can also do wonders for your waistline.

Along with pickled veggies, and kimchi, it is an excellent source of probiotics, a form of good bacteria that supports healthy digestion and decreases bloating.

Salmon

Salmon

Foods rich in Omega-3s like salmon, walnuts and flaxseed have been proven to decrease inflammation.

Green Tea

Green Tea

Adopting a daily green tea habit works wonders in shrinking your waistline and decreasing inflammation.

The compound EGCG (Epigallocatechin gallate) found in green tea has been found to aid in reducing body fat.

Whole Grains

Whole Grains

Fiber-Rich grains help control your body’s insulin response.

Plus: a high vitamin B content makes whole grains excellent in fighting bloating.

Onions and Leeks

Onions and Leeks

Onions and leeks produce butyrate which acts like a metabolic wonder drug that promotes insulin sensitivity and increases the amount of fat you burn.

Water

Water

Though this one’s pretty obvious, a lot of us are guilty of neglecting the power of staying hydrated.

Drinking 64 ounces of water daily flushes out various toxins from our body, including those which cause overall inflammation.

Almonds

Almonds

Monosaturated fats promotes heart health and reduces inflammation.

Olive oil, avocado, and almonds are great sources of these "good fats".

Kiwi

Kiwi

A good healthy option when you’re craving something sweet. It contains arabinogalactans, a plant-based fiber that helps feed the good bacteria that enhance normal metabolic function.

It all kills bad bacteria associated with carrying excess weight

Spices

Spices

Turmeric, cinammon, ginger, and chilli peppers are all potent in fighting inflammation.

Trim down by incorporating these into your meals regularly.
