9 foods that melt away flab!

24 Jan, 2014

Lose weight without the dieting and starving – 9 great foods that will help melt away the fat in your body!

1. Eggs

1. Eggs

They contain vitamin B12, which aids in melting the fats present in your body. Eggs also keep you fuller for longer, meaning that come lunchtime you won’t be tempted to overeat! Try poaching them and adding a couple of slices of whole grain toast for a healthier alternative to fried eggs.
2. Peanut Butter

2. Peanut Butter

We’re sure a lot of you out there just did a double take, but we aren’t joking! Magnesium in peanut butter helps your body properly and efficiently metabolise energy. Top a fruit bowl with a couple of teaspoons of peanut butter and you should notice your craving for sweets decrease dramatically.
3. Avocado

3. Avocado

Smooth, creamy, delicious avocado; brimming with good fats and nutrients not only does wonders for you body but they also help you absorb nutrients from other foods more effectively. Make a bowl of guacamole and enjoy with baked corn chips or add a few slices to your salad!
4. Sirloin Burger

4. Sirloin Burger

We’re in the business of surprising you today, aren’t we? Yes, sirloin burgers are 90% lean beef, which is basically all protein. Your body is going to have to work harder to break this down, meaning more energy is being used than taken in! Skip on the fries and have a salad or some corn on the side.
5. Cheese

5. Cheese

Dairy products like cheese and yogurt are full of vitamins and nutrients like calcium that are necessary for our bodies. They contain conjugated linoleic acids that are responsible for helping your body burn fat. Make a healthy snack with a couple of whole wheat crackers and some low-fat cheese!
6. Pickles

6. Pickles

A medium sized pickle contains about 7 calories – your body needs more energy to digest a pickle than what you’re consuming. So get crunching if you’re feeling a little peckish come midday! Throw a couple of slices into your sirloin burger for an extra bite.
7. Green Tea

7. Green Tea

High in catechins (a type of antioxidants), green tea helps abdominal fat loss when paired with exercise. These catechins inhibit glucose and lipid uptake that can lead to a decrease of fats being absorbed and stored in the body. A high intake of green tea isn’t recommended for diabetics though, so be sure to check with your doctor first!
8. Yogurt

8. Yogurt

Yogurt is especially good if you’re looking to gain a flatter stomach. A study done showed that snacking on 18 ounces of yogurt a day, along with a reduced overall calorie intake, helped drop a whole jean size! Stick your yogurt in the freezer for a great alternative to ice cream.
9. Quinoa

9. Quinoa

Being more of a vegetable than an actual grain, quinoa helps weight loss by keeping you feeling full and satisfied. High in proteins and fibre you should find yourself too full to want to snack on unhealthy foods. With a low-glycemic index, swap your pastas for a serving of this wonder grain instead!
