According to news reports made in June this year, every Singaporean baby born in 2015 will receive a Jubilee Baby gift set to commemorate Singapore’s 50th birthday. Among the items which will be included in the Jubilee Baby gift set are a shawl, a baby book, a set of baby clothes, as well as a photo frame and a scrapbook.

During a lunchtime scrapbooking workshop conducted by the People’s Association (PA) on Thursday, 20 November, the National Population and Talent Division (NPTD) unveiled the white photo frame and colourful scrapbook which comes with stickers. This workshop was attended by about 20 parents, including 2 expectant mothers of SG50 babies.
More items which will be part of the Jubilee Baby gift set will be unveiled this weekend.

Apart from the gift items, the Government will also be rolling out a series of courses for mums and dads of SG50 babies starting from March 2015 to prepare them for their journey towards parenthood. These will include classes on scrapbooking, baby massage techniques and more.
Ms Tan Swee Leng, PA director of the Lifeskills and Lifestyle Division said: “Parenthood is an exciting journey for many new and expecting parents… From the learning of baby care tips to creating a scrapbook to store precious moments of the child’s growing years, parents next year can look forward to a variety of parenthood related courses at various community centres and resident committee centres island-wide.”
According to NPTD, details on the courses will be available on the PA and SG50 Baby websites in early 2015.
