The Instagram account sgfollowsall on Wednesday (8 September) posted the netizen’s ordeal, where they talked about being harassed by a stranger in the middle of the day.

To spread awareness, the netizen posted that they were harassed by a middle-aged man at Tampines interchange. The incident took place on Tuesday (7 September) at 3.05pm.

The suspicious man allegedly kept touching their body including their thighs. He also kept asking “sensitive questions” about their life which left them uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, it didn’t stop there.

The netizen shared that the man kept moving closer and looking at them. They wrote that it was a truly terrifying moment and it felt as though he wanted to push them “closer towards him.”

The man then got off at around 3.07pm. The netizen managed to catch how he was wearing a beige coloured shirt with dark jeans.

“Share this with everyone and I hope you will spread this awareness around to other young youths around 13 – 19 [years old],” writes the netizen.

Celebrity Dad Mark Lee Shares the 3 P's of Raising School Going Children - Parenting Tips, PSLE Preparation & Protecting Your Child’s Eyesight!
  1. Stay calm. It is easier said than done, but it would be in your best interest to respond in a safe way. Let them know firmly that their actions are unwelcome and are making you uncomfortable.
  2. Take note of everything during the incident. It would help you further to report the incident if you remember where it happened, what time, what exactly they did as well as what your harasser was wearing.
  3. Report to the authorities. Contact the police and tell them everything that happened. This could help in finding the person and prevent them from causing any harm to others.
  4.  Help someone in need. If you find someone else being harassed or is caught in an unpleasant situation, approach them just as calmly and let their harasser know their actions are unacceptable.

Let us work towards creating a safer world for everybody and prevent any harassment from taking place.
