How to establish and enforce house rules for new maids

Employing a maid means that you will need to set boundaries and ground rules for your maid.

Employing a maid means that you will need to set boundaries and ground rules for your maid. This is very important since they will be living under the same roof as you and your family, so you will need to set expectations as well as maintain order in your household. Here are a few tips for establishing and enforcing house rules when it comes to maids:

House Rules

1. Be honest to your employer.

3. Do not bring other people into the house without your employer’s permission.

4. Do not leave the house without your employer’s permission.

5. Do inform your employer when you go out during your off-day.

6. If there is any misunderstanding or miscommunication, try to explain to us, but do not argue or shout.

7. It’s alright to use cell phones, but make sure that it won’t interfere with your work.

Employer – Maid relationship

1. Talk to your employer if you have any problems with the work.

2. If there are too many things for you to handle, do let us know and we will work it out with you.

3. If you’re not feeling well, make sure to talk to your employer so that they can buy you medicine or take you to the doctor.

Housework Related

1. Always be meticulous when it comes to cleaning the house.

2. If you’re not sure about how to do a task, don’t be afraid to ask your employer.

3. Do not leave any cleaning materials, knives, scissors, etc. lying around the house.

Baby Care

1. Let your employer discipline their child, don’t do it yourself.

2. Never hit or harm the children.

3. Watch the child closely if you’re in a playground.

4. If the child gets injured, or gets hurt, make sure to immediately tell your employer.

5. Always keep the child close whenever you’re going outside with the child.

When it comes to enforcing house rules, always be firm, yet understanding. Remember that your maid is your employee, and the most important thing is that they do the job that you hired them for. Always be sure to give your maid days off as required by law, and give them proper compensation for their work.
