The thought of cutting your baby’s nails for the first time can be petrifying. There is a constant fear that you might end up hurting him and this is not without good reason. After all, babies are very unpredictable and even the slightest carelessness on your part can lead to something untoward. However, this does not mean that you cannot or must not cut your baby’s nails. All you need to do is be careful. Here are some handy tips:
- Lie your baby down comfortably
- Preferably buy an infant nail cutter, unless you are very comfortable using an adult one
- Hold your baby’s finger firmly (very, very important) and carefully cut the nail
