East vs. West: Which side of Singapore has the most fun for kids? (Part 2)

4 Mar, 2016

As any Eastie mummy knows, we don't really need to travel far to give our kids a memorable and fun family day out. (East is best!)

In case you Eastie Mummies have missed anything out, or Westie Mummies are thinking of paying a visit to check out the hype, we have compiled a list of great places to bring the kid to in the East!

East Coast Park Beach

East Coast Park Beach

East Coast Park has been a favourite haunt for any Eastie below the age of 16 for generations. Get out of the house, your child’s face out of the iPad and into his comfortable beach wear pronto to explore this sandy kiddy paradise where there’s tonnes to do.

Beaches are great for exploring the great outdoors, whether it is the sand dribbling through his chubby fingers, the salty wind caressing his cherubic face or simply pointing out the various flora and fauna that are abundant on this sandy stretch, it is a great place for children!

Besides the beach itself, there are little corners for free and fun activities for kids within the beach. Various establishments have also sprouted up to cater exclusively to the youthful crowd. More in the following slides!

Suitable for:All ages

Road Safety Park

A staple of every 80s Singaporean kid school excursion, this Road Safety park is still standing at East Coast Park. Have fun role playing with them while at the same time, teach them those all-important traffic rules that might one day save their life.

Changi Airport is not the best airport in the world for no reason, and one of the many advantages that being a Singaporean parent (especially an Eastie Singaporean parent) avails us of is that the facilities at the various terminals are awesome playtime for our kids.

Treat your kids to the sight of huge airplanes taking off into our blue skies and then check out the popular playgrounds. Remember to visit the 4-storey high slide located in Terminal 3 as well for some adrenaline-filled shrieks of joy!
