Dr. Seuss, the beloved author of whimsical tales that have charmed generations of readers, once said, “Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.” This sentiment captures the essence of his timeless stories that entertain and impart valuable life lessons. One of his most iconic creations, “The Cat in the Hat,” comes to life once again, promising a delightful experience for children and parents alike, at the KC Arts Centre – Home of SRT from October 18th, 2023.

Based on Dr. Seuss’s classic book, “The Cat in the Hat,” this production has been lovingly crafted into a magically witty play by Britain’s National Theatre. The play has previously enjoyed successful runs by SRT’s The Little Company in 2012 and 2015, and now it’s back to whisk you away on a whimsical adventure.

For those who haven’t recently immersed themselves in Dr. Seuss’s world, this production serves as a delightful reintroduction. Dr. Seuss’s stories are known for their entertaining narratives and the underlying lessons they impart. They teach grammar, syntax, scansion, phonics, morality, ethics, tolerance, and the human spirit. With “The Cat in the Hat,” audiences of all ages are in for a treat combining entertainment and valuable learning.

The story revolves around Sally and her brother, who receive an unexpected visit from the mischievous and enigmatic Cat in the Hat. With boundless tricks and zany ideas, he transforms their dull and rainy afternoon into an extraordinary adventure. Joining the fun are the twin troublemakers, Thing 1 and Thing 2, ensuring that “The Cat in the Hat” is a purr-fect day out for both children and parents alike!

“The Cat in the Hat” will be staged from October 18th, 2023, onwards. Performances on weekdays are at 9:30 am and 11:30 am, while weekends offer showtimes at 11 am and 2 pm. The play has a duration of approximately 45 minutes with no intermission, making it suitable for children aged 2 and above.

Ticket pricing varies depending on the day:

Weekdays:

– Cat 1: $30

– Cat 2: $27

– 15% OFF Family Package (4 tickets): $102 (Cat 1) and $91.80 (Cat 2)

Weekends and Public Holidays:

– Cat 1: $50*

– Cat 2: $40

– 15% OFF Family Package (4 tickets): $170* (Cat 1) and $136 (Cat 2)
