Madame Fan is a fine-dining Chinese restaurant helmed by the restaurateur, Alan Yau (the man behind the famous Hakkasan). The low-lit striking red and black dining rooms enhances its intimate appeal, which is its highlight.

This place has many outlets spread across the region and it’s the Crystal Jade Golden Palace that has got itself a Michelin star. The one at Paragon is also very popular because it has an indoor mall playground, which makes it a favourite for kids. 

Can’t miss: Prestige Signature Dim Sum platter, and the Spinach with the 3-Egg dish is a must try.

14. Summer Palace

This place has been awarded a Michelin Star for its authentic Cantonese cuisine. 

Can’t miss: You can’t afford to miss Summer Place’s Steamed Prawn Dumplings with Bird’s Nest. There’s also a special new dim sum creation every month. You can also try the gluten-free menu.

  • The weekday set menu is priced at $72 pp and includes a minimum of four to dine to avail of this offer. It has outstanding creations like Poached Lobster Meat with Scallop.

15. Tim Ho Wan

This eatery now has one Michelin-star. There are almost 11 outlets on the island. Their USP is the fast-casual dining setup.

Can’t miss: Try the baked barbecue pork bun, which is crisp from the outside, soft inside and yes, filled with sweet char siew meat and sauce on the inside. You can also try their Beancurd Skin with Pork and Shrimp.

16. Golden Peony Restaurant

It offers a la carte dim sum by Chinese Chef Ku Keung. You get to try some exotic flavour combinations like the Phoenix feet with X.O. Chilli Sauce (which is priced at $5.80). You can taste Char Siew’ Bo Luo Bao at $6.80 at the restaurant. 

Can’t miss: You can try their famous Shrimp Toast and Chicken Bun.

17. Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant

The restaurant within Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel is quite famous for its exotic decor. But it’s not any less famous for its food, specifically dim sums. 

Can’t miss: Their deep-fried dumplings are a must try. 

Pocket pinch: Dim sums are available for lunch. You can get steamed shrimp dumplings with black truffle (priced at $6 for two pieces), to deep-fried Prawn Dumpling with Lychee and Special Mayonnaise (it will cost you $5.50 for two pieces).

18. Chopsuey Cafe in Dempsey Hill

The black and white decor offers a unique setting for this dim sum restaurant in Singapore. You can get dim sums for lunch on weekdays, and brunch on weekends.

Can’t miss: Bangkok street grilled pork, Crispy Lobster Wontons, Sticky Rice Dumplings, kimchi eggplant, and the chop suey mixed vegetable are a must-try. 

The desserts were also showstoppers and are designed and plated to perfection.

Pocket pinch: The menu here is Anglo-Chinese and their dim sum ranges from Crispy Lobster Wontons (priced at $15) to Sticky Rice Dumplings ($10). Don’t miss, the Shredded duck pancakes that you can get at $29.

19. Grand Shanghai

The decor and the interiors have been inspired by the “Old Shanghai” of the 1930s. Specialities, including dim sums cooked by Chef Jacky Tang, attracts visitors. 

Can’t miss: You will love the marvellous creation called “Light and Shadow” Crispy Duck, priced at $28. The setting gets more perfect when you have traditional Chinese music and jazz will be playing along with good food.

Do note that this service is currently not available due to the restrictions amid the pandemic.

20. Social Place

This is a great place to hang out with friends and you can get some perfect Instagrammable photos at one of the coolest dim sum places in Singapore. It also doesn’t hurt that the food is yummy too! 

Can’t miss: You can get some deep-fried lobster Glutinous Puffs, priced at $7.80 for 3 pieces and Truffle Shiitake buns (priced at $6.80 for three pieces).

After satiating your dim sum cravings, don’t forget to pick up a spoonful of custard piglet Small Pig Pudding, priced at $6.80 per piece.
