The family of a 7-year-old Star Wars fan, Sam, is thanking actor Peter Mayhew, who plays Chewbacca for reaching out to Sam’s friend Liam.
Liam and Sam had made a pact to see the latest installment of the world-famous franchise, ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ together in December but sadly, Sam died in an ATV accident.
In the heartwarming letter, Mayhew offers words of comfort to young Liam saying, “”I am so sorry to hear that you won’t be able to see the new ‘Star Wars’ movie with your friend. I know that sometimes things happen and we can’t figure out why and all we feel is sadness. It’s important to remember the fun you had with Sam. Best friends are never really gone, they live on forever in our hearts and memories.”
He heard about their touching story through Liam’s grandmother, who’s a friend of his.
