What better way to spend quality time with your kids than by enjoying the picturesque cycling routes in Singapore. Not only is it one of the best physical activities, but it can also be a fun bonding experience with the kids.

If your children have finally gotten around to cycle on their first bike then it’s the perfect time to begin your journey together! We even recommend shopping for a handy bike from online bicycle shops or renting from some of the many available bike rentals around the island to kick start the fun. 

With that said, let’s move on to exploring some scenic cycling routes in Singapore. 

While there are many routes you can take around the heartland, not all of them may be safe for kids. That is why we’ve listed the best family-friendly trails and cycling routes in Singapore that you can easily breeze through with your little cyclist. 

8 Best Kid-Friendly Cycling Routes In Singapore

1. Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park

One of the best spots to have a sunny family outing, Bishan Ang-Mio Ko Park not only has all-access playgrounds for kids to enjoy, but it’s also a great place to have a short bike trip.

It has flat paths that make it easy for your little one to cycle around. It’s also the best area to get some fresh air, thanks to its lush greenery, Pond Gardens, and River Plains.

Being one of the largest urban parks in Singapore with 62 hectares, you and your family will surely have enough time to ride along its trails. Perhaps afterwards you could even set up a relaxing picnic to end the day.

2. Coney Island Park

Another route that takes you on trails surrounded by nature, Coney Island Park is home to a wide variety of fauna and flora. You can enjoy a beautiful view of wildlife as well as capture snapshots of its breathtaking views.

Bring along the kids and cycle down the main Coney Island spine for an exciting ride along with nature. For a bit of extra activity, you can also try to spot its 80 species of birds as you cruise past their habitats.

3. Eastern Coastal Loop

If you’re from around the east of Singapore, you can enjoy a cycling experience complete with some sun, sand and beach at the Eastern Coastal Loop.

Connecting Pasir Ris Park to East Coast Park, your family can take this route that perfectly captures the beautiful scenery of Singapore.

It won’t be a problem if you get tired along the loop for the area offers your choice of stopovers and various food centres to catch a quick break. It’s certainly one of the best cycling routes in Singapore. 

4. East Coast Park

Enjoy the sea breeze as you cruise along East Coast Park. You can take in its scenic coastline while also indulge in the many dining and recreational activities the park has to offer.

After a long day of cycling, your entire family can settle down at the nearby hawker centre and other restaurants to reward yourselves from all that work out.

Or, you can also choose to relax with a quick picnic before setting off for another round of its route. 

5. Northern Explorer Loop

There’s also a fun loop to ride around at the north of Singapore, which is at Northern Explorer Loop.

Here, you can indulge in its scenic parks perfect for a quick family photo as well as discover its flora and fauna within the 20-hectare nature area.

The normal route may be a bit of a challenge. But you can always head down to Woodlands Waterfront Park for a bit of a kid-friendly trail. It is good for a bit of leisure bike ride. 

6. Punggol Waterway Park

Let your little cyclist practice their biking skills at Punggol Waterway Park, where they can find well-maintained tracks at both sides of the waterway. Good news! They run through the park.

Have a fun-filled day with the entire family within the park and spot it’s four different themes that consist of a Nature Cove, Recreation Zone, Heritage Zone as well as a Green Gallery.

You can start with the breathtaking sights under the sun and start your trail from the Sentosa Boardwalk, which is just beside VivoCity.

8. West Coast Park

You can kickstart your cycling journey with the kids at West Coast Park where you get to ride along with a peaceful and quiet environment. It’s perfect for some family bonding time!
