Creative DIY gifts for dad on Father's Day!

Tight on your budget but would like to give dad a gift on Father's day? Put on your creative hats and craft dad a gift this year! From baking to singing a song, creativity in gifts are endless.

#1 - Daddy’s special car wash basket

#1 - Daddy’s special car wash basket

Gather all the required items for washing a car a sponge, gloves, car wash detergent, towel, car wax, window wipers and arrange them in a nice bucket. Use paint or markers to inscribe "Daddy’s car wash kit". Decorate as you please.
#2 - Write a poem

#2 - Write a poem

Come up with a special poem for your dad to show how much he means to you. You can use your Dad’s name in it and try to find words that rhyme with it. It does not have to be really long, just enough to address your love towards dad!

Kids can find an empty jar and fill it up to the brim with daddy’s favourite snack goodies. Anything from M&Ms and Reeses Peanut Butter to even his favourite Tim Tams. Decorate the outer part of the jar with stickers, glitter, ink, etc.

#5 - All about DAD Book

Bind together a set of A4 size paper and viola! your self-made book. Fill each pages with pictures and words all about dad. Write a short story about your favourite moment spent with daddy, what dad has taught you and why you love your father. Don’t forget to sign your signature at the end of the book!
#6 - 365 things we love about daddy!

#6 - 365 things we love about daddy!

Get a jar and fill it fill with with 365 folded colour papers. Each paper written with reasons on why you love your dad. This will keep your kids busy thinking of reasons, and makes children more appreciative of their fathers. It’s recommended to do this a week in advance!
#7 - Have in indoor picnic

Why not gather the family and have an indoor picnic! Arrange a floor mat or you could even built your own fort out of blankets. Pack some food from the kitchen, and assemble the family for some close bonding time!

Compose a creative song expressing how much love you have for your daddy. Try using the help of the internet and YouTube for inspiration and the right beats to your song. Lure the Singapore Idol version out of yourself and it won’t fail to impress your dad!

Borrow one of daddy’s old tie (one that he does not use anymore) and give it a new look by designing it with fabric paint. Incorporate various colours and patterns on it and let it dry before wrapping it and presenting it to dad!

Hand make your own coupon booklet for dad. The coupons can include anything from : Escape from laundry, free sparkly car wash, "get-out-of" dish washing, one walking-the-dog trip, 30 mins massage session or a one-time-only redemption for TV remote control These are one time use coupons that you must loyally abide to when your dad redeems it! He will be so happy and grateful for this gift without a doubt.
