1 min read

During this important month-long confinement period, it is vital to eat well to regain your strength. Fish helps mend worn-out cells and prevents the degeneration of muscle mass. Here is a must have confinement fish recipe.

What you need for
Steamed Tenggiri Fish

2 tenggiri/spanish mackerel steaks

1 tsp tamarind paste, dilute with ½ cup water

1 onion, chopped coarsely

3 cm ginger, sliced thinly

4 cm fresh young turmeric, sliced thinly

1 lemongrass, trimmed and bruised

4 garlic cloves, sliced thinly

1 tsp cracked black peppercorn

1 turmeric leaf, bruised and knotted

Lemon Slices

Honey

Salt to taste

What you do:

Mix tamarind juice with honey and salt.

Arrange the fish on a dish, garnish with the rest of the ingredients.

Pour tamarind and honey mixture over the fish.

Steam for about 20-25 minutes.

Garnish with lemon slices.

Serve hot with rice.
