Fun on ice, the Club Med way; Who says parents can’t have fun too?

13 Nov, 2016

Looking for a family friendly ski resort? Well, Club Med offers some great options!

Ski Land Fantasy

Ski Land Fantasy

Most parents here would be familiar with the refrain, "Why doesn’t it snow in Singapore?!" or "I want to see it snow, I want to ski, make snowmen and play with snowballs." Ever dreamt of breaking away from the heat and running off to an exotic family friendly ski resort? Look no further, for Club Med offers the ski experience of a lifetime at two different resorts. What’s More? It’s all inclusive, meaning you pay for everything upfront, so you don’t have to worry about planning and expenditure, while you are too busy holidaying away by the Alps.
Club Med Peisey-Vallandry

Club Med Peisey-Vallandry

Located about 2 hours away from Geneva Airport, Club Med Peisey-Vallandry is a traditional chalet style resort, offering breathtaking views of the French Alps. It also credits itself as a family friendly ski resort offering as many as 3 kids clubs catering to kids of different ages. So, you have the Petit Club Med® for the toddlers, Mini Club Med®, for young children and even a Club Med Passworld®, for the much overlooked teens. Activities are specially designed keeping in mind the needs of each age group, be it sports or creative activities.
Club Med Peisey-Vallandry Deluxe Room

Club Med Peisey-Vallandry Deluxe Room

A room, with wooden interiors, and a view to kill. Again, the resort prides itself as being family friendly, so they do offer connecting rooms and suites. The Deluxe room above is good for up to 3 persons.
Club Med Peisey-Vallandry Outdoor Pool with View

Just what is there not to like about this pool! The beauty of this pool is that it is part indoor and part outdoor. So dive in from indoors and emerge out of the pool to witness the spectacular Alps.

Speaking of the Alps, the Club Med Peisey-Vallandry is a great place to learn how to ski. The snow may not be that great, but you don’t have to worry about getting embarrassed. Plus, an ever patient ski instructor will take you through the whole process.

Club Med takes its all inclusive concept very seriously. Food and drinks are abundant. Lunch and dinner times in Europe are different from what we are used to in Singapore, though. The French normally enjoy lunch at around 1pm and dinner from 8:30 - 9:00pm. An abundance of gourmet European mountain cuisine is available. If you do feel peckish in between meals, crepes and other snacks are available in the resorts to tide you over. The buffet is insane, and a considerable part of the menu is devoted to kids, like pasta, fries, burgers, ice-cream and chocolate fondue. Did we mention the cheese fondue is spectacular?
Club Med Val Thorens

Club Med Val Thorens

Take your snow holiday to new heights in Europe's highest ski resort. With some of the world's best runs, a dance bar set high in the mountains, and a dining experience designed by a two-Michelin-starred chef, Édouard Loubet, you'll be on top of the world at Club Med Val Thorens. This resort is ideal for couples heading off on their honeymoon retreat.

When in Club Med Val Thorens, you just cannot miss the La Follie Douce. A dance bar completely surrounded by peaks, covered in white snow. Hard to beat.
Club Med Val Thorens spa

Enjoy some pampering with exotic aromatherapy oil. There is even a Turkish bath (steam room) that you can use.
Some pointers

Some pointers

Carry the right kind of ski gear- you can get them at Decathlon. Remember to get ski masks. Carry a bottle of water up to the slopes – warm is good. Don’t forget your gloves. It’s really cold up there. Get sunglasses too as the sun shines right into your eyes and it can get difficult to see while skiing.
