Siblings aged 5 to 11 years old can soon get their Covid-19 jabs together. Under one appointment slot, these child siblings can follow the same vaccination schedule.
This new “sibling walk-in” arrangement was announced in a press release by the Ministry of Education (MOE) on Monday (3 January).

From January 10, siblings can receive their Covid-19 vaccination at the same time. According to the ministry, all accompanying siblings of a child with an appointment within Mondays to Thursdays can walk in for a jab as well without a prior appointment.
MOE says the “sibling walk-in” arrangement was made to provide “greater convenience” for parents or guardians with more than one child aged 5 to 11 years old. It was also to optimise available vaccination capacity on Mondays to Thursdays.
Parents and guardians are advised to arrive at the vaccination centre by 7pm if they plan to have their children vaccinated under this arrangement.
The ministry also encourages parents or guardians who have booked separate appointments for different children or wards to keep only one desired slot. They should then cancel the remaining bookings on the National Appointment System.
All siblings planning to get vaccinated at the same time will need to bring the following:
- Student identification, or other forms of identification such as a birth certificate
- Passport or SingPass
MOE adds how they are currently unable to accommodate the arrangement on Fridays to Sundays. This is due to the high demand in appointment bookings for the next few weekends.

More than 6 in 10 Primary 4 to 6 students in MOE primary schools have registered for vaccination as of Sunday (2 January). Meanwhile, 9,000 children aged 9 to 11 who are not in these schools have registered their interest in the Ministry of Health (MOH) National Appointment System (NAS).
Seven more paediatric vaccination centres have also started offering vaccinations for children aged 5 to 11 since January 3.
Then from Wednesday (5 January), about 110,000 parents or guardians of Primary 1 to 3 students in MOE primary schools can expect to receive a unique link via SMS to book an appointment for Covid-19 vaccination.
The ministry also notes that parents and guardians of all remaining children aged 5 to 8 years old can proceed to register their interest on the NAS starting from January 6, 2022.
“We seek the understanding and cooperation of parents to ensure we can provide a smooth and orderly vaccination process for all our children, and will continue to work with MOH to consider further operational enhancements to the paediatric vaccination arrangements,” says MOE.
