With the number of carbon monoxide poisoning death stories, it is clear how these tragic cases should not be taken lightly. With all the time we spend at home nowadays, it is better to regularly check on our household equipment to prevent such accidents.

According to Chinese media Sin Chew Daily, the 31-year-old husband and 34-year-old wife are from Jiangxi Province. They were simply taking a bath when they tragically passed away.

It has been identified by preliminary investigations that the cause of death was due to accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.

Faulty gas heaters in the toilet can produce carbon monoxide. Since it is both colourless and odourless, this makes that gas even more dangerous as victims would not immediately realise its presence.

While an autopsy is required to find the exact cause of the couple’s death, their families reportedly refused.
