Capri by Fraser launches their Sunday Champagne brunch at Caprilicious

Are you on the lookout for the perfect Sunday brunch? Keep reading for details on the new Sunday Champagne brunch at Caprilicious at Capri by Fraser.

Everyone probably knows that we Singaporeans love a good Sunday brunch! A brunch buffet — even better! So those of you brunch enthusiasts might be thrilled to find out that there’s a new brunch buffet in town.

Caprilicious

Caprilicious at Capri by Fraser has a fabulous new Sunday brunch.

The hotel residence Capri by Fraser launched a fabulous new Sunday Champagne brunch at their restaurant Caprilicious recently. My family and I were delighted to be invited for the opening on the 20th of July.

Upon entering Caprilicious, we were greeted by several friendly staff from Capri. When they saw our two kids, they immediately informed us of their kids’ play area.

Caprilicious

The spacious kids’ area should be your first stop!

So as you would imagine, that’s where I went first. The play area at Caprilicious is huge!

They had a movie screening at the time and there were large couches for kids to lounge on. There’s also a staff member who takes down the child’s particulars and the parent’s phone number.

More on the kids play area later — you must be dying to find out about the spread of scrumptious food at Caprilicious!

Starting the meal right

Caprilicious

The wonderful range of shellfish on offer

The spread was lavish and I decided to start at the seafood counter. On offer at the seafood crustacean counter are baby lobsters, crab claws, prawns, scallops and mussels, plus fresh assorted sashimi — including Norwegian salmon, Ahi tuna and octopus.

Caprilicious

Colourful and fresh sashimi

I love sashimi, so that’s what I tried first. I was quite pleased to find out that it was very fresh indeed.

There is also an impressive salad counter which included offerings such as potato salad, Caprese salad with fresh mozzarella, basil and tomato, and a hearty cobb salad.

The antipasto counter, on the other hand, featured the likes of  grilled peppers, guacamole, artichokes and mixed olives, among many others.

Caprilicious

Salads galore!

I particularly liked the potato salad and the Caprese, with its pillowy-soft fresh mozzarella.

Caprilicious

An all-time brunch favourite — Eggs Benedict.

The buffet also features brunch favourites such as Eggs Benedict, sausages, bacon, and a selection of cereals and fresh yoghurt.

Say cheese! This range of cheeses are enough to satisfy any cheese-lover!

If you fancy some bread and cheese they’ve got those, too. From ciabatta and rye to brie and bleu, complete with grapes and crackers — you will be spoilt for choice!

BBQ, pasta and more…

Now, on to the BBQ station. This is (obviously) located outdoors, just a few steps away from the buffet itself. You should definitely make the “trip” there, in my opinion!

Caprilicious

The BBQ station is outdoors.

Caprilicious

A must-try! The mini burger will definitely satisfy!

They have delicious and juicy mini Wagyu burgers (my husband’s favourite of the day!), tender lamb cutlets, sambal stingray and a few other varieties. The clear winners are the burgers and the lamb!

Caprilicious

A range of delicious meats on the BBQ.

Caprilicious

You also have to try the BBQ beef at the carving station — it is done to a perfect medium-rare and is a meat-lover’s delight.

Pace yourself now, we are only halfway through the buffet — there’s much, much more to go!

What I wanted to check out next was the pasta/egg station. Pasta-anything is one of my kids’ all-time favourite foods.

Caprilicious

The pasta and eggs station

The chef at the pasta and egg station whipped up some ravioli with tomato sauce and it was amazingly yummy! Needless to say, my kids loved it.

Mains

Caprilicious

A yummy selection of mains. The pork (top left) is a must-try!

Oh, they also have a selection of 10 mains! Among the mains line-up are the crackling pork roulade, veal bratwurst & chicken bockwurst sausages, Hong Kong-style seafood egg noodles and, a local favourite, chicken nasi goreng kampung.

Caprilicious

A close-up of my favourite — the pork roulade with crispy crackling. It is mouthwateringly succulent!

Sweet temptations

Caprilicious

They taste as good as they look!

Caprilicious

Macarons — so many flavours, all so amazing!

Now, here’s a tip you’ll most definitely thank me for later — save room for dessert! I know it is really tough not to get carried away when presented with a huge selection of delicious food, but do try.

Here’s what you need to do — walk by the dessert section before you start on the starters and mains, just to know what to expect, and you’ll know why I’m asking you to do what I said earlier.

Caprilicious

A delicious array of cakes and slices

Caprilicious

More desserts!

The Caprilicious brunch buffet has a wonderful array of local and western sweets, such as durian pengat in shot glasses, yam paste with chia seeds, a selection of macarons, assorted mini French pastries, almond longan jelly, traditional nyonya patisseries… and the list goes on.

Caprilicious

Traditional nyonya sweets — sure to be a hit with the kids!

Caprilicious

A fresh berry tart encased in crunchy shortcrust pastry with a crumble topping

I need to make a special mention about the chocolate indulgence section, which has options such as white and dark chocolate fondue, opera cake, dark chocolate truffle, mousse, churros and chocolate waffles. Yum!

Caprilicious

Chocolate fondue, anyone?

Caprilicious

The waffle station

Fun for kids

Caprilicious

A mini-buffet for the little ones

The brunch buffet at Caprilicious is extremely kids-friendly.

The property’s HotSpot lounge doubles as a kids’ area during Sunday brunch. Kids can do some colouring activities and watch cartoons.

A lovely selection of kid-friendly food is also served at the kids’ area.
