Bukit Timah Nature Reserve offers a network of meandering trails suitable for different skill levels. The ranger at the visitor centre shared some helpful information about the trails:

  • The easy Red trail to the summit covers approximately 1.3km. So, this is much bearable if you are with your kids ages 8 and above.
  • The moderate Green South View/Cave trail stretches about 1.8km.
  • The difficult Yellow Dairy Farm loop trail is around 2km from the summit.

To reach the summit, you can take a direct route that's a 30-45 minute walk covering 1.3km from the visitor centre.

You have the option to walk along the paved main road, which is stroller-friendly, or take a steeper ascent up steps for the final 0.2km.

Along the way, you'll be enchanted by the unique dipterocarp forest found only on the island.

While the view from the top of Bukit Timah Hill may not be spectacular, you'll find a rock marking Singapore's highest elevation, a shelter, and benches.

For a more picturesque photo opportunity, head to Hindhede Nature Park, where you can capture stunning views across the Hindhede Quarry.
