The benefits of including milk in your child's daily diet

The benefits of including milk in your child's daily diet

The goodness of a cup of creamy milk goes beyond just nutrition...

As parents, we all know how important it is to provide our children with healthy, balanced meals through the day. However, such meals do more than just providing adequate nutrition to your child.

When the correct balance of various nutritious foods and drinks are included in your little one’s diet, his focus at school is improved, energy levels for plenty of play are increased, and his ability to calm down for a good night’s rest is enhanced.

Milk is a great source of energy to help your child power through his or her day, while staying focussed and alert!

Milk for health and more

Energetic days

A great way of adding important nutrients to your child’s diet is by giving him milk. It’s the number one source of calcium, playing a vital role in bone development, and also includes other important nutrients such as vitamin A and protein.

By adding nutrient-rich milk to your family’s breakfast, you are giving them a head-start to their day, as well as the energy they need to power through any challenge that lies ahead.

What’s more, if you want your kids to be focused, alert, energetic (and healthy!) throughout the day, a good source of calcium and vitamin D such as MARIGOLD UHT Milk can certainly help. Moreover, it helps them stay satisfied so that they can focus on their studies and the important things they need to do.

Tip: For an easy, yet nutritious breakfast on-the-go, try whipping up a fruit smoothie or fruity milkshake for your kids. For added flavour, add a touch of vanilla extract and cinnamon.

A cup of MARIGOLD UHT Milk before bedtime can help your child get a good night’s sleep

Calm nights

After a busy day at school or work, drinking a glass of warm milk before bedtime is a great way to wind down and induce a good night’s sleep. This is because a special protein found in milk may improve sleep quality and next-day alertness.

As parents, we all know the importance of sleep for kids. Sleep deprivation has been linked to difficulties in school, disciplinary problems, poor concentration and drowsiness in class. Therefore, ensuring your children get adequate sleep each night is crucial to preventing such issues from occurring.

Tip: Offer your child a glass of warm MARIGOLD UHT Milk with a teaspoon of honey (only for kids over the age of one to avoid the risk of botulism) mixed through it before bedtime. This will help him relax and fall asleep faster.

Also avoid engaging your child in strenuous activities just before bedtime. Rather than tiring him out, this may overstimulate him and just make it harder for him to fall asleep.
