11 beauty tips to conceal your tiredness

14 Jan, 2016

Fed up of looking so drained all the time? Don't worry, super mums – we've got your back!

11 beauty tips to conceal your tiredness

11 beauty tips to conceal your tiredness

Here are some beauty tips that will help conceal your tiredness, and fake that freshness, always.

1. Cleanse, Tone, Moisturise

1. Cleanse, Tone, Moisturise

Getting your cleansing regime right is key to having healthier and fresh-looking skin. Wash your face every morning with the best cleanser suited for your skin type. Use a toner to exfoliate off dead skin cells followed by a moisturiser to revitalise your skin.

2. Concealer and BB Cream

2. Concealer and BB Cream

If you are dreading putting on heavy foundation every day, slap on some BB Cream or concealer to conceal your under eye circles and wrinkles. You do not need much makeup to look alive. A little goes a long way.

3. Tint your lips

3. Tint your lips

Applying some lip tint on the inner part of your lip can make a difference in perking up those lips naturally. Just a soft touch adds colour, making you appear more presentable. And who doesn't love pretty looking lips?

4. The power of a highlight

4. The power of a highlight

Eye brighteners or highlighters (in liquid form) are often mistaken as "just a concealer".

It does way more than conceal – it brightens your under-eyes and emphasises the areas on your face that catches light.

Just remember not to brighten the wrong parts of your face! Highlight your under eyes, bridge of your nose, cupid's bow, chin and dot some on the middle of your forehead and you're good to go.

5. White eyeliner

5. White eyeliner

A touch of white eye liner applied to the inner corners of your eyes and along your inner rim will instantly open up your eyes and make it seem a lot bigger. This is a lifesaver for most makeup artists as this simple step can transform the entire shape of your eye.

6. Add some sparkle and shimmer to your browbone

6. Add some sparkle and shimmer to your browbone

Add some highlighter or shimmery eyeshadow on your browbone and inner corners of your eyes to brighten up the focal point of your face - the eyes. While you're at it, trim and shape your eyebrows to look groomed and neat for the day - remember that eyebrows always frames your face.

7. Set your makeup

7. Set your makeup

For a light touch of makeup, opt for a compact powder or a mineral powder.

Gently tap in translucent powder with a sponge of your choice to prevent your concealer from melting off your face.

Avoid using a brush to do so as dusting powder with a brush will defeat the purpose of having flawless skin

8. Shimmery bronzer

8. Shimmery bronzer

A shimmery bronzer will create a more sun-kissed and dewy looking skin. It tends to help eliminate any dullness to your face because of its ability to catch the light when it hits your face - creating that sun-kissed effect everyone loves.

9. Mascara magic

9. Mascara magic

Open up your eyes even more by curling your lashes and putting on some mascara. Volumising your eyelashes will make such a difference to how your eyes look. It immediately creates an illusion of a bigger eye.

10. Brush some blush

A little colour on your cheeks will make you look more flushed and naturally rejuvenated - which helps override the tiredness shown from your eyes.

11. Pamper your eyes with some cucumber skin

11. Pamper your eyes with some cucumber skin

After a long day out, you should pamper yourself with a frozen cucumber eye mask.

Cucumber has long been heralded as the DIY remedy for under-eye puffiness. With Vitamin K, cucumber skin can help to shrink capillaries, reduce the appearance of dark under-eye circles and restore eye skin to a healthy state.

Plus, they’re water-dense to help plump, cool, hydrate and soothe for more youthful looking eyes.
