5 Beauty Mistakes New Mothers Should Stop Doing Now

Being a new mom is no excuse: A mother has the right to take care of herself and feel beautiful in her own skin by all means.

Being a new mother is not an excuse to stop paying attention to one’s body. A mother has the all the right to take care of herself and feel beautiful in her own skin.

In her blog Mom and Trendy, one mother shares the top five of the most common beauty she’s experienced as a new mother.

1. High maintenance haircut

A lot of new moms opt to change hairstyles after giving birth to shake things up. A common mistake they make however is going for a cut that requires a lot of attention to style.

Go for a hairstyle that is easy to maintain and doesn’t require too much time.

2. Sleeping with make up

You may find the idea of taking your make up off after a long day an extremely tiresome task, but it is one that you should never skip. Sleeping with your make up on blocks your pores and ruins your skin.

For a faster way to take them off, invest in a good make up remover wipes; it literally takes only two minutes of your life.

3. Neglecting your hands

They are one of the most overlooked parts of a woman’s body, subjected to a lot of stress caused by constant washing and friction. Make sure that you take some time to pamper them every now and then with a hand cream or lotion to keep them soft and smooth.

4. Failing to care for hair and nails

One’s hair and nails are some of the most time-intensive body parts to care for, but that’s because they’re important, especially after giving birth. New moms may experience clumps of their hair falling off. As a remedy, they should consult with their doctors and ask what vitamins and supplements they should take.

5. Not using baby products

Baby products may be intended for baby use, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use them for yourself. For example, did you know that you can use baby oil to reduce the severity of your stretch marks? And baby wipes actually do a great job at removing make up.
