There’s nothing that brings the best out of a child than a school. That’s why it’s so important to get the feel of a school before deciding if it is the right fit for your child.
If you’re looking out for a school, why not drop by our AIS Virtual Open House, have a look at what we have to offer your child and how we can help your child become the best version of themselves.
AIS – Who We Are & What We Stand For
Mums and dads, before checking out a school’s curriculum and facilities, never underestimate the importance of understanding the school’s culture and values that it stands for. Understanding that you’re on the same page makes it easier for the school and home to work as partners to mould a child.
AIS is a globally focused, distinctly Australian institution which represents educational excellence in all aspects. We fully believe in the notion of a holistic, all rounded education which places equal importance on arts and sports as it does on academics. Furthermore, we recognise each child as valuable and teach them to have a moral commitment to making the world a better place.
If you like the sound of that, then you should attend the AIS virtual open house 2021! Read on to find out more about our curriculum.
A Curriculum Fuelled by Your Child’s Curiosity
When your kids are young, they look at the world around them in wonderment and awe. They are burning with questions, ready to try out just about everything. Surely as parents you would want this appetite for learning to last throughout their education. We’re with you.
That’s why we have adopted the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary years program. This is a world-recognised program that is engaging, dynamic and challenging. It is an inquiry-led curriculum with your child’s curiosity at its core.
We believe in grooming our students to take responsibility for their learning as they build their knowledge of the world around them. Find out more about our IB curriculum at the AIS virtual open house 2021!
Holistic Learning for Your All-Rounded Child
You’ve heard of the saying ‘all work and no play make Jack a dull boy’. Being confined to a classroom and sitting through hours of passive learning goes against a child’s natural inclination to learn through play. To ensure that your child’s talents are developed in an all-round fashion, we have a few interesting programmes infused in our curriculum:
Athlete Development Programme
Through this programme, we identify and develop potential and aspiring athletes and provide them with many opportunities to achieve sporting excellence. Students selected for the ADP will engage in 8 different modules over a two-year period.
Young Musicians Programme
If your child is an aspiring young musician, this would be perfect. This programme adopts the Orff approach which combines music, movement, drama, and speech into play-based learning. Learning music will be just like learning a language, through a gentle and friendly approach. Your child will also benefit from ensembles and performance opportunities!
Outdoor Education Programme
Australia is known for its great outdoors, and we are after all an Australian institution so outdoor education is an integral part of our learning journey. Through this programme we will inculcate in your child an appreciation and understanding of the natural environment from a young age and provide them with myriad opportunities to experience the outdoor life through camps. A great adventure awaits!
It Takes a Village to Raise a Child
Indeed, it does, that’s why we have an Early Learning Village for the little ones between the age of 2 months and 6 years. We have created a Reggio Emilia-inspired learning environment specially designed to support your child’s journey.
We truly believe in the limitless capacity that young children have to learn, and we will ensure that they have limitless opportunities to learn, to be inspired, to grow and to develop with our purpose-built facility and unique curriculum.
To get a feel of this cosy learning environment, do join us at our AIS virtual open house 2021!
Leading Your Child to Be Their Best!
It is a competitive world out there and as parents, we understand in choosing a school, you would want one that sets high standards for your children to achieve their best. You can be rest assured that we maintain high standards as AIS has been listed 21 times on the Higher School Certificate (HSC) Distinguished Achievers List in 2019.
In fact, one of our students recently achieved the perfect score of 45 and the highest possible Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of 99.95 in 2019. We aim to bring out the best in your child both in and out of the classroom!
Every Child Matters
We truly believe in recognising that a child’s potential can come in different forms. AIS firmly believes that intellectual ability alone does not determine a child’s worth or potential to contribute to the world’s advancement. To put that into practice, we welcome with open arms children from all walks of life.
We have inclusive policies that prioritise non-selective practises in our admissions policy to pave the way for students to benefit from the plethora of benefits that we have to offer.
So there you have it, our school in a nutshell. Remember, it is of great importance that you select a school where your child will be happy and confident. At the heart of it all, a school should offer your child opportunities to thrive based on their interests and strengths, not just their academic abilities. This is what we have to offer at AIS.
In line with AIS’ COVID-19 safety measures, our open houses have moved online. Our open house will help you learn how your precious child can become the best version of themselves at AIS.
Our leadership team will also be present to answer your questions and share their insight and expertise. Register here. We look forward to meeting you and your child!
