AI for Fun Courses: Learning AI in Schools from 2025

Want to see how your kids will learn AI in school? AI for Fun courses are starting in 2025, and they’re packed with robots, ethics, and future tech skills!

AI for Fun courses are coming to schools in 2025, and they’re set to make learning about artificial intelligence (AI) exciting and engaging for students. These courses will be part of a bigger plan to help kids understand how AI works and how it affects their everyday lives.

What Are AI for Fun Courses?

AI for Fun courses will be introduced as part of the “Code for Fun” (CFF) programme, already in place in schools. These new modules will add 5 to 10 hours of AI-related learning for primary and secondary students. The idea is to give students hands-on experience with AI, making it more than just theory.

How Will Students Learn AI?

AI for Fun courses are designed to be interactive and practical. Students will work with smart robots and other AI tools, learning how these machines respond to different signals. For example, students might train robots to follow commands or solve problems. This hands-on experience makes learning more fun and helps students understand AI in a real-world context.

Why Ethical AI Matters

Along with the fun and creative parts, students will also learn about the responsible use of AI. AI for Fun courses will teach them the importance of using AI ethically, covering topics like data privacy, the risks of AI, and its limitations. This will help students think critically about how AI should be used in society.

Learning to Spot Fake News and Stay Safe Online

A key part of these courses will be teaching students how to verify information they find online. In today’s world, fake news and misleading information are everywhere. AI for Fun courses will help students learn how to spot unreliable sources and stay safe online. They’ll also learn about data security and privacy, which are critical skills in a digital age.

Using AI to Support Learning

Students will also discover how AI can support their learning. Teachers will guide them in using AI tools to help with studying, making their learning more efficient. These courses will ensure students understand the importance of academic integrity while using AI—such as avoiding plagiarism or misuse of AI in their schoolwork.

Teachers Will Receive AI Training Too

To ensure teachers are fully prepared to teach AI for Fun courses, the government will launch a new fellowship programme in 2025. This programme will train 250 teachers to become experts in AI. These teachers will then share their knowledge with colleagues and help build AI skills across the education system.

Connecting with Industry Experts

The fellowship programme will give teachers the chance to meet AI industry leaders and researchers. They’ll learn the latest trends in AI, which they can bring back to the classroom. This approach keeps the education system up-to-date with the fast-evolving world of technology.

Preparing Students for a Digital Future

Introducing AI for Fun courses is about more than just teaching technology. It’s about preparing students for a future where AI will play a huge role. These skills could lead to exciting careers in AI, data science, or other tech-related fields. By starting early, students will have the advantage of growing up with these essential digital skills.

A Big Investment in AI

Beyond schools, Singapore is making a major investment in AI research with the “AI for Science” initiative. The government will invest S$120 million into developing AI tools for scientific research. This move ensures that the country stays at the forefront of AI development, benefiting both students and the wider research community.

Why AI for Fun Courses Matter

Incorporating AI for Fun courses into school curriculums is a forward-thinking move. It gives students a chance to learn about AI in a way that’s fun, interactive, and practical. By learning AI skills early on, students will be better prepared for the digital challenges of tomorrow. With a focus on ethical use, critical thinking, and real-world applications, these courses ensure that young learners are well-equipped for a future where AI is likely to be everywhere.
