The life of a couple fills with joy with the arrival of their baby. This is pretty much the scenario in Henry Golding and his wife Liv Lo’s life now. The 34-year-old actor is officially a dad!

Yes! The beautiful couple welcomed their first baby on March 31, and took to Instagram to share the good news with their fans.

The two posted pictures from the hospital with emotional captions. While Golding posted a black and white image with an emotional note for his wife, “This woman right here. Beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Your strength brought us our greatest joy. Thank you, I love you.”

Lo posted several photos sharing glimpses of her labour and delivery, to the newborn holding onto her finger.

She wrote in the caption, “On March 31st our lives changed forever. Link in bio of leaving Instagram for #maternityleave (for the time being). I’ll prob be up during midnight breastfeeds checking in on you, but otherwise ‘I’ll be back xx”

The couple, however, kept it to sharing only snaps, without revealing any further details about the little one, like the baby’s sex, name or weight. However, well-wishers did seem to share that it was a baby girl. With friends including Hanli Hoefer writing, “Congratulations you guys. She’s going to take over the world! @henrygolding.”

It was in November 2020, that Golding and Lo announced the pregnancy. At the time, they shared some stunning shots of the actor and the fitness guru posing atop a bridge.

Lo, 35, posted her own set of snaps from their bridge photo shoot looking beautiful in a tight grey ribbed dress that highlighted her cute baby bump. She had captioned the photos, “Such immense joy this little one has brought us already. Now we get to share it with you (emoticon) We love you!”

“I want to be one of those cool dads”

The couple has been very regular at updating their fans with pictures and updates on their Instagram profiles. In fact, they haven’t shied away from talking about becoming parents as well. In fact, Golding spoke to Us Weekly in February about becoming a father. At the time, The Gentleman actor said, “I want to be one of those cool dads.”

Henry added, “It’s harder than it sounds. I think I’m sure your kids go through phases of you being that greatest hero, to the most embarrassing human in their eyes. So I look forward to living out all of those. I want to be the guy sort of dressing up in weird outfits and picking them up from school and embarrassing them, like, continuously.”

They ever shared images from they mini-baby shower.

A Mini Baby Shower For Liv Lo

On March 2, Liv shared pictures of the couple at her mini baby shower to celebrate her pregnancy. “I feel like I have had a graduation party for becoming a mother!” she captioned their photoshoot…With a special blessing, lots of flowers, and love I am ready for this journey… Can’t wait for Baby G(olding)!” she wrote along with the images.

The couple surely deserves their share of happiness, especially after going through the tough phase of losing a child. In an emotional post shared last year, the couple opened up about miscarriage.

The trauma of going through a miscarriage…

To everybody’s shock, in December 2020, Liv Lo shared a post on her Instagram page saying she was ready to talk about her experience. “We’ve been on our pregnancy journey for a while now and I’ve posted and deleted before as I didn’t feel comfortable sharing without commentary,” she wrote.

Liv found out she was first pregnant on 1 January, 2020, while they were in Peru. It was like “divine timing” as it was on the same date as the couple met 9-years-ago. Unfortunately, the celebration didn’t last long.

After they were back to their regular schedule of work and travel. Lo arranged an appointment with an OBGYN on her 10th week of pregnancy “feeling good otherwise.” But on the first scan, their baby did not have a heartbeat.

Despite the heart-wrenching news, Lo had to move forward and set up an appointment for the missed abortion procedure alone while her husband was still in the middle of filming in Tokyo.
She added, “Even with friends in LA to support me, going through the process on my own, and then catching up with him in Tokyo meant that he was left out of the emotional journey,” wrote Lo.

“All I needed was a big hug after the procedure, but having to wait a week to travel across the world to catch up to each other was pretty traumatic for me,” said Lo.
With time and with each other’s support, this difficult phase passed, and in June 2020, Liv Lo’s fertility doctor shared the good news of her life that she was expecting again. And here we are today!

Congratulations to Henry Golding and Liv Lo as they start this new journey together.

For the uninitiated, the couple met on New Year’s Day 2011 and got married to each other in Sarawak, Malaysia, after five years of dating and knowing each other. Wishing the couple immense joy as they embrace parenthood!
