Get the Perfect Fit: A Step-by-Step Guide to Measuring Your Ring Size at Home

3 min read

Don’t have the time to go to the jewellery store and ordering a ring online? Learn how to measure ring size at home.

Knowing your ring size is essential when purchasing a ring, whether it is a ring you plan to wear or a gift for someone else. But determining ring size can be challenging, especially when shopping online.

Rather than leaving yourself with the guesswork, here’s how you can accurately measure your ring size. So if you’re looking for a step-by-step guide on how to measure your ring size at home, read on!

How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home

Step 1: Measure the circumference of the finger

First, cut a strip of paper that is about 1 inch wide and long enough to wrap around your finger. Then, wrap the paper around your finger and mark the point where the paper meets.

Use a ruler to measure the length of the strip from the end to the mark you made. This length is the circumference of your finger.

Keep in mind that it is best to measure your finger at the end of the day when your fingers are at their largest. It is also recommended to measure your finger a few times to ensure an accurate measurement

Step 2: Use a ring size chart

Finally, use a ring size chart to find the corresponding ring size for the circumference of your finger. Upon learning that, you can find the diameter and refer to a ring size chart to find the right size.

Here’s a simple ring size chart that you can refer to:

Note: This chart should be used as a general guide only. The best way to determine ring size is to get measured by a professional jeweller.

Consider the shape of the ring when selecting the size. If the ring is a wide band, choose a slightly larger size than the measured circumference. For a thin band, choose a slightly smaller size.

Following these steps will help you get the perfect fit for your ring right from the comfort of your home. You can also check out this YouTube video for more instructions:

How to Secretly Measure Your Partner’s Ring Size

If you want to surprise your partner, you may want to measure their ring size without them knowing.

To do this, you’ll need to borrow one of their rings, or a ring they wear on the same finger. Place the ring on a ruler and measure the diameter of the inside of the ring in millimetres.

If you prefer, you can measure the circumference of the ring in millimetres, then divide that by 3.14 to get the diameter. Record the measurement and use it to determine your partner’s ring size.

Measuring your ring size at home is a fairly simple and straightforward process. The most important thing is to make sure you have the right tools and to use them properly. With some patience, you can easily determine your ring size without ever having to leave your home. This will save you time, money, and the stress of finding the right ring size in-store.
