9 outrageous Miss Universe costumes!

An international competition that displays beautiful girls from all corners of the world, we think they went a little overboard with this segment!

1. Miss Singapore

Our very own, Miss Singapore’s costume looks as if it were made to resemble a cross between the peacock and our national flower. Which, in theory makes sense but it could have been executed a little bit better. Don’t you think?

2. Miss America

Autobots, roll out! We don’t think there is much more to be said here.

3. Miss Curacao

We’re not sure what this costume is trying to portray. Mostly we know that this outfit is supposed to be a large lizard, and Miss Curacao’s own head where the lizard’s should be.

4. Miss Angola

A country in Southern Africa, Angola has a bright and colourful culture. This costume just doesn’t do it justice. Plus, Miss Angola herself looks a little overwhelmed in it!

5. Miss France

La Tour Eiffel, or the Eiffel Tower, can you see it?

6. Miss Jamaica

Miss Jamaica herself, looks stunning, with a glow in her face and everything. Her costume, however, just has so much going on that it’s quite impossible to notice anything else.

7. Miss Netherlands

They may have taken, ‘representation of your country’ a little too seriously here. As you can see, she quite literally resembles the Netherlands, with buildings around her and flowers at her ankles and all!

8. Miss Belgium

This outfit wouldn’t be so bad, if they had only left out the devil’s pitchfork. It distracts from the Satan, we mean satin, gloss of the feathers.

9. Miss Tanzania

It looks a little bit like she grabbed a rug and wrapped it around her waist. Maybe a more elegant gown with similar colours and patterns would’ve worked better. We’d skip the white body suit as well!
