An 8-year-old boy has suffered a cut above his right eye while playing at the Mirror Maze attraction in Jewel Changi Airport’s Canopy Park.
According to Chinese newspaper, Shin Min Daily News and reported by The New Paper, the boy’s family who are from Malaysia were in Singapore after a holiday in Thailand.
They had planned to have dinner at Changi Airport before returning back to Johor Bahru.

Mum lost sight of son at Canopy Park
The boy’s mother identified as Ms. Wen Meiqing told Shin Min that she and her husband brought both of their sons aged 10 and 8 to the Canopy Park.
But they soon lost sight of their younger son as he was very excited to see the attraction and was running around the maze.
However, moments later, she heard the boy shout and when she found him he was already badly injured.
She mentioned that his spectacles were cracked and there were bloodstains on his shirt and on the floor.
Jewel staff immediately gave medical aid to the boy, but unfortunately, the cut was so deep that his wound would not stop bleeding.
The boy was then rushed to the nearest doctor where his family paid about $250 in medical expenses.
The boy, thankfully, did not receive any stitches.
Metal poles unsafe?

Ms. Wen claims that while her son was not able to tell exactly what happened to him, she believes that he might have knocked into the mirrors on the metal poles in the maze.
“This is not the first time someone got hurt in the maze. Based on my observation, the metal poles were not padded with cushions. The incident spoiled our mood,” she added.
Commenting on the mishap, a spokesperson for Jewel Changi Airport Development told Shin Min that all visitors are required to go through a safety briefing before entering the attraction, and a guide stick is also given to visitors to use in the maze.
This has not been the first incident at Canopy Park, earlier this year, a 14-year-old girl also sustained a cut on her face that required nine stitches.
