For all that mums do for us, we should do what we can to celebrate them whenever we can! Being a mum is a tough job. Mums spend their waking hours making sure all our needs are met. They do their best to ensure we are well fed, that they show us as much emotional support as possible and they even make sure we have a balanced work-play life!
So this Mother’s Day, why not give mum her turn to have some fun? If you can’t think of where to bring her or what to do to celebrate this special day dedicated to mothers, here are some suggestions:
1. Take her to the spa
There’s nothing better than letting mum relax her worries away for a day at the spa. It’s also a good opportunity to bond with mum with the exclusive “Mummy and Me” spa treatment menu curated by So Spa, Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort and Spa.
The spa treatment menu includes packages like a 45-minute body scrub (toning, detoxification or anti-aging), a 60-minute massage (The Sentosa Massage, So Relaxing Massage or Deep Tissue Oriental Massage) and a one-day unlimited access pass to So SPA’s outdoor spa garden facilities featuring a 22-metre lap pool, float pools with cascading waterfalls, mud pools, meditative labyrinths and a ladies-only area.
2. Bring her on the ultimate foodie tour
Sentosa Island is home to more than 120 dining establishments! Don’t just take her to one spot – take her on your own customised foodie tour. Mums can dine for free or enjoy special treats at some of the outlets on Sentosa Island, like a buffet lunch or dinner at Silver Shell Café (Shangri-la’s Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa). It will be a different experience for mum and the whole family to enjoy beachside dining at newly opened Ola Beach Club, Coastes and Wave House Sentosa.
For something a little fancier, take mum to some of the most scenic spots on the island to enjoy panoramic views of Singapore and watch the sunset at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove and Spuds & Aprons on Mount Faber, or treat her to a luxurious Michelin-starred experience at Forest, Resorts World Sentosa.
3. Turn mum into a STAR!
Mum is already beautiful in every way! But sometimes it’s nice to play dress up. Surprise your mum with a makeover and role-playing games at KidZania Singapore. It’s the perfect time for bonding and also seeing a side of mum you may not always get to see.
4. Write a letter, it’ll last forever.
Go down that old school route and pen down your love for mum in a heartfelt letter. With the your help, Sentosa hopes to set a record for the most number of handwritten scrolls to form a multi-coloured mural wall. Join in the fun and include your scroll in this wall of love notes from kids of all ages and nations.
Singapore’s Largest Mural of Scrolls is a special wall located at Beach Plaza, measuring about 6 metres by 1.8 metres and will house thousands of handwritten love letters for mothers. The wall will be up until Mother’s Day and all guests are invited to contribute to this wall. Booths will be set up at Beach Plaza between 11AM and 7:30PM daily.
Guests can even keep these handwritten letters as keepsakes for their mothers as the letters on the walls will be carbon copies. And don’t forget to take a picture with mum with this special wall in the backdrop!
5. Learn to code and give mum an animated card she can share on her social media
A great way to impress mum this Mother’s Day is to acquire a new skill. MOSH! At Palawan Kidz City will be hosting a coding workshop where kids will learn a lifelong skill (that is really handy in this day and age) and get to gift mum a very unique gift.
6. Send mum on a rollercoaster ride
If your mum loves a good adrenaline rush, she will love spending the day with you at Mega Adventure Park, Sentosa 4D AdventureLand and Universal Studios Singapore®. Bring out mum’s fun and youthful side at these exciting places. Take lots of pictures with all the different characters and backgrounds to make an album for her afterwards!
