We've all seen husbands pulling out chairs and opening doors– when it comes to being chivalrous. But, carrying a wife's handbag is a new trend hitting the shores of Singapore! Read more to see 5 reasons why some men think they shouldn't, but they do it anyway!

For some men, carrying a handbag screams 'henpecked husband'. The common notion is if you're carrying a woman's handbag, you're 'soft', or 'whipped'.

Also to some, the idea of masculinity has been feminised immensely throughout the ages but this latest trend, they believed, is taking it too far.

Opening the door for a lady is highly regarded as chivalry. Pulling a chair out for a woman is also chivalrous. But carrying your wife's handbag unfortunately is not..? Again, it's seen as 'soft'.

Most men think handbags were designed with women in mind, which implies that a woman should be the one carrying the purse.
4. Mistaken for a homosexual?

Simply put, people might mistake you for a homosexual! Though you'd have to really look the part to be mistaken for one, don't you think so?
5. Help not necessary

Helping your wife carry the heavy groceries is helpful. But unless there are rocks in the missus' handbag, men reckoned their wives don't need help.
