If you are a parent who prefers the all-natural route, here are 13 all natural teething pain relievers that might work for your teething baby.
1. Mama or Daddy’s Fingers

1. Mama or Daddy’s Fingers

Washed and well-groomed hands can be the perfect, easiest remedy for a teething baby. Lightly rubbing or just allowing the baby to chew freely will be well appreciated, especially since it requires no work for the baby at all. A word of advice; your baby will probably naturally place your hands in their mouth as they will place ANYTHING in their mouth to chew on during this time. Make sure your hands are always clean and groomed during teeth times. Nails are best kept short for a while.
2. Chilled raw carrots

2. Chilled raw carrots

Chilled raw carrots are a great and healthy remedy for teething. The cool and firm texture is just what babies need. Watch out for broken off pieces to prevent choking.
3. Slightly frozen waffles

3. Slightly frozen waffles

Tasty, frozen waffles make for a great remedy for teething. If a small piece is broken off the baby, you can safely turn it into mush.
4. Frozen fruit

4. Frozen fruit

Different fruits can work magically when frozen to gnaw on, but the generally preferred favorite is a banana because they are seedless and will not break off into large chunks generally. After the banana is frozen, your baby can suck and gnaw at the banana until it slowly defrosts into a soft mush which is easily eaten. The process will take quite a long time so relief will be long lasting. This of course is not recommended for any baby who teethes younger.
5. Beef jerky

5. Beef jerky

This might be unheard of but beef jerky makes great teethers and is traditionally used in Europe. Since it is tough but flavourful, babies love chomping on this dried meat endlessly. After several minutes of being a baby’s chew toy, parents should replace the drooled-on jerky with a new one to prevent choking accidents. Do also try to use this as a last resort as beef jerkies are not very nutritious and laden with salt.
6. Teething rusks

6. Teething rusks

Designed so that your baby can bite down hard without cracking or splintering the rusk, they are a great alternative to teething rings and also make a great snack for toddlers because they taste great!
7. German Chamomile hydrosol

7. German Chamomile hydrosol

Hydrosols are like essential oils but are far less concentrated, therefore they can be used undiluted straight on your baby’s gums for teething relief.
8. Natural Vanilla extract

8. Natural Vanilla extract

Vanilla has properties that relieve teething pain. Rub a small amount on baby’s gum once a day for it to be effective.
9. Tooth brush

9. Tooth brush

By placing a toothbrush inside the mouth, a baby’s pain can be alleviated because of the gum massage it receives by stroking the brush back and forth against the teeth. Chewing on a toothbrush is also a great way to help with the pain.
10. Teething net strainer

10. Teething net strainer

This store bought remedy is relatively new to the market, but was a genius invention. Cold but soft fruit chunks are placed into a soft netting contraption with a small handle for the baby. As baby gnaws on the netted fruit, not only are they given relief, but their hands are warm and they receive a small snack as well. The only downside to this remedy is that one needs to watch the netting when baby’s teeth start poking through. The net strainer is really ideal for the baby with no teeth yet.
11. Wash cloth

11. Wash cloth

Much like a teething ring, wash cloths can be frozen or refrigerated after wet and can provide instant relief. Unfortunately, much like a teething ring, little hands can strongly dislike the coldness. This problem however can be solved by keeping the majority of the wash cloth dry for a warmer place to hold on to.
12. Teething rings

12. Teething rings

Many moms swear by this favorite standby. The hard plastic, water filled, teething rings now come in all shapes and sizes for your baby. They are pretty fool-proof and require freezing or even just refrigerating for a short time before they are ready to be gnawed on by sore gums. The downside to this remedy is that most do not come with any handle and can make little baby hands quite chilly. This doesn’t cause any harm, but some babies may not use the rings because of this.
13. Amber teething necklace

13. Amber teething necklace

Teething necklaces made from amber is considered as one of the common remedies for teething. Wearing amber gives off succinic acid into the skin and alleviates pain. Succinic acid reduces inflammation and heals wounds. Plus, the textures and shapes of the beads on the necklaces relieve pressure on the gums.
