Get ready for the long weekend opportunities packed for you this 2010!

According to The Straits Times, the year 2010 is going to be a year for weekend vacations. The official count of holidays that fall on either a Monday or a Friday totals to six. This means that families will have more opportunities to go out of town or explore Singapore sights together. The holidays are Chinese New Year (Feb 14 to 16), Good Friday (April 2), Vesak Day (May 28), National Day (Aug 9), Hari Raya Puasa (Sept 10), and Deepavali (Nov 5).

As early as October 2009, many families have already booked their tickets and hotels. The top destinations are China, Korea and Taiwan. Travel operators say that only a few seats are left in their tours for these countries.

As you start planning your vacations, make sure that you consider the suggestions provided by experts to ensure that your holiday doesn’t turn out to be a dreadful nightmare. For families who opt to stay in Singapore for these long weekends, there are a lot of child-friendly destinations that you can choose from.
