First Line of Code workshop is organized by Tink Tank to expose children to the world of programming. Children are encouraged to pick up programming from young as coding helps to sharpen their logical thinking, build creativity as well as strengthen their problem-solving skills.
The workshop is targeted at kids from 7 to 12 years old, who have no prior experience in programming. Through this workshop, children will:
- Be exposed to basic computer science concepts and learn step-by-step logical thinking process through learning softwares like Lightbot and Code Monkey Island
- Write their first line of codes and build their own games using Scratch software
- Build important life skills like interpersonal and presentation skills
“Coding is the new literacy. Not everyone is able to speak it, but if you do, you’ll greatly benefit from it”.
