Ailing father dies after walking daughter down the aisle on her wedding day

Ailing father dies after walking daughter down the aisle on her wedding day

“It was really painful but knowing that he left this world after fulfilling his dream of walking me down the aisle, I’m happy already no matter what..."

This story made us tear up. This is indeed why daughters need their fathers. Because, “A father’s love knows no boundaries.”

Ailing dad Pedro Villarin was suffering from advanced liver cancer. But that didn’t stop him from fulfilling his one last wish.

To walk his daughter down the aisle on her wedding day – a father’s privilege and pride.

Beautiful story reminds us why daughters need their fathers

Beautiful bride Charlotte Villarin knew that it was her 65-year-old dad’s final wish to witness her wedding.

She tells Coconuts Manila, “That wedding was really for him because he wanted to walk with me to the altar and witness my wedding since according to him I’m his favourite daughter.”

It wasn’t easy. Pedro’s condition had worsened and the family was struggling with hospital visits.

Charlotte reveals, “We hired an ambulance and a private nurse for the wedding. We thought he would be able to sit on a wheelchair, but he couldn’t take it and used the stretcher from the ambulance instead.

“But he really sacrificed because he felt a lot of pain in that moment. And we thank GOD for allowing that to happen.”

The event’s coordinators and family members helped Pedro fulfill his one last dream of walking his daughter down the aisle.

“A father’s love knows no boundaries”

Wedding photographer Law Tapalla puts it across beautifully:

“A Father’s Love knows no boundaries.

“Mr Pedro Villarin walked her daughter down the aisle like any father would have even if his current health makes this a difficult endeavour.

“Mark and Charlotte’s wedding was a celebration of love, not only theirs but a love that joins their families closer to each other.”

Sadly, Pedro passed away not too long after his daughter’s big day.

Charlotte is heart-broken, but knows that her father died a happy man.

“It was really painful but knowing that he left this world after fulfilling his dream of walking me down the aisle, I’m happy already no matter what,” she tells Coconuts Manila.

Every little girl looks up to her daddy. He is her superhero. He is the first man she says “I love you” to.

And no one in this world can love a girl more than her father.

May Pedro’s soul rest in peace.
