Watch this mum give birth live!

Watch this mum give birth live!Watch this mum give birth live!

Are you curious to know what it would be like to have a natural delivery while at home? A Canadian mum is offering the entire world a peek into her living room as she delivers her baby.

We know what you are wondering – who is this woman and why in the world is she allowing just about anyone to watch what we all deem as the most private moment of a woman’s life? Before you write her off as a shameless attention-seeking smut looking for her five minutes of fame – let’s set the record straight.  Nancy Salgueiro, the mummy whose hoo-ha will be on display for hundreds of thousands of people is actually a Doctor and birth coach. She’s fed up of how television portrays natural birth as scary or painful and she’s ready to dispel all the myths.

In her video (embedded below) Nancy who has two other children also from home births shares, “I do believe that birth has been stolen from women… we really need to take that back.” She goes on to add “I believe it’s important that we change our visual blueprint so when we think of birth we think of a normal, natural process that’s part of life and you have an idea of how a woman moves and responds and acts in labour.”

A wonderful and powerful statement since many expectant mothers are fed with the façade of modern media on giving birth is a gruesome ordeal.  But the fact remains, that while her intentions seems good, is she taking things too far by sharing such a personal experience online? We want to hear your thoughts!

And for those who are looking forward to watching her live birth, do tune in to her website on the 7th of October. We’ve signed up and we’re eagerly waiting to experience her home birth with her!
