Vivian Hsu Shares Touching Birthday Messages From Stepdaughters: 'I'll Always Be Here To Support You'

"You're not only like a mother, but also like my best friend."

Vivian Hsu is killing it as a stepmother and she has the receipt to show for it. vivian hsu stepdaughters

In an Instagram post published yesterday (Mar 3), the Taiwanese singer-actress shared a touching birthday card she got from her stepdaughters Shasha and Clara, while she reflected on her journey as a mother. Vivian, who will turn 45 later this month, moved to Singapore after marrying Singapore-based businessman Sean Lee in 2014.

The couple has a four-year-old son Dalton, and she’s also mother to two daughters from Sean’s previous marriage.

Vivian Hsu Stepdaughters Show Appreciation To Their Mum

In the post, Vivian called the girls her daughters, and thanked them for their understanding, patience, and love. On the birthday card, Shasha expressed her gratitude for having Vivian in her life, for being supportive, positive, resilient, and for teaching her how to be a better person.

Shasha wrote: “I admire your attitude towards life and I want to learn to be a better person and improve myself. I know things have not been easy for you several times, but even so, you persevere to the end! And that is one of the many admirable things about you. Lastly, thanks for being such a cool mum.”

Her sister Clara was grateful for the time spent with Vivian and how she always looks out for the family. Clara even gave a cheeky nod to Vivian teaching her how to play mahjong and told her to drink less coffee.

“Every time I talk to my friends about my parents, I’ll say you’re super cool, and I’m very proud of having you as my mother. You’re not only like a mother, but also like my best friend. That’s why I always feel so comfortable around you. I know I say this all the time but I’ll always be here to support you, whether it’s at home or when you are out working. I’ll always be here to help whenever you need any help,” Clara wrote.

MYSTERIOUS HEART BURN

The photo was shared with a caption that detailed Vivian’s mysterious heart burn and discomfort in her throat that she experienced recently. Vivian explained that it was caused by acid reflux, and the diagnosis marks the first time she’s paused to take stock of her physical health in the six years she’s been married. It made her realise that she has been moving through life at a breakneck pace.

She wrote: “For the past few years, my life has been at a pace where I gobble down my food, I rush through my showers, I drink two cups of coffee every day to stay alert, and I stay up late to finish the tasks I want to complete.”

Vivian revealed that since she had Dalton, she’s never dared to have a lax attitude towards her motherly duties as she’s a new mum. However, she didn’t want to give up her career as a performer either so she jets around every month and juggles her roles.

But, her hectic lifestyle and lack of rest has since taken a toll on her health, and she’s decided to focus on her personal wellness.

Vivian said: “I’ve decided to love myself more. I won’t stay up late if I don’t have to, I’ll sleep early and wake up early. I’ll eat slowly, feel at peace, and drink less coffee.”
