The Very Hungry Caterpillar & Other Eric Carle Favourites

The Very Hungry Caterpillar & Other Eric Carle Favourites

ACT 3 International is pleased to bring back for the fourth time, a very popular production – The Very Hungry Caterpillar & Other Eric Carle Favourites by Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia, Canada

Based on the works of award-winning children’s book illustrator and writer Eric Carle. It has previously opened here to sell-out performances and audiences will be enthralled by a magical visual feast of black light theatre, embellished puppets and enchanting music.

Eric Carle is celebrated for beautiful works that reflect his intuitive understanding and respect for children, as well as highlighting themes such as love for nature in a heart-warming way. The Very Hungry Caterpillar has been translated into more than 45 languages and sold over 30 million copies around the world. Now, young audiences will be able to experience the magical transformation of a well-loved tale into a larger-than-life piece of theatre.

Three meaningful stories will be presented in this black light extravaganza. The Very Hungry Caterpillar follows the adventures of a tiny and hungry caterpillar and its eventual metamorphosis into a beautiful butterfly – what does it chomp along the way? In Little Cloud, the child’s imagination will wander just like a cloud does. What can a white fluffy object transform into? A sheep, an airplane, a shark… the possibilities are as limitless as the sky. It eventually finds the reason for its existence – to form rain for our survival. In The Mixed-Up Chameleon, an adorable reptile leaves its home to explore a zoo and finds joy in discovering the different kinds of animals there. This performance is suitable for children from 3 to 6 year-olds.
