From Tuesday to Wednesday, Superland Preschool was closed for cleaning and disinfection. A Superland spokesman told The Straits Times that the daycare centre is working with the Early Childhood Development Agency, MOH and parents regarding the cluster.
All those infected were from the same class. They were present at the preschool last Friday when they had cleared health checks and temperature screening.
After the first child was confirmed to have Covid-19, the other infected individuals were detected during testing of close contacts. The child reportedly developed symptoms at home on Sunday and immediately visited a doctor.
The spokesperson adds that the infected staff member is fully vaccinated.

The preschool centre expects they will be able to resume operations by 21 August. It is said that classes in the other centres of Superland Preschools are still operating as normal.
To prevent further transmission of Covid-19, here are the safety measures that the preschool will be taking (according to their spokesperson):
- Those who have been in close contact with the confirmed cases have already been issued a quarantine order.
- Meanwhile, those who recently have been in the daycare centre but have not been quarantined were issued a leave of absence until 20 August.
- All the other children and staff from Superland Preschool will be tested as a precautionary measure.
- Students were provided with home-based learning kits to continue their education while away from school. This is to help parents and ease the burden on them.
- The preschool’s staff are in close contact with the parents of the affected children and the infected staff member to check on their well-being.
