'Super dad' Hugh Jackman saves kids from drowning

It looks like the X-Men star is a hero offscreen as well!

Hugh Jackman Saves Kids — It was supposed to be a quiet day on the beach but actor Hugh Jackman wasn’t expecting his kids to be at risk as they waded into the waters of Bondi beach in Australia.

The outing took place in between takes of his latest film Eddie the Eagle.

The actor didn’t hesitate and charged into the water as his 10-year-old daughter Ava and 15-year-old son Oscar got caught in a dangerous riptide.

Swimmer Peter Adam also helped Hugh by grabbing Ava and then linking arms with Hugh to pull the young girl to safety.

“His daughter was struggling to get on to the sand bar so I reached down, grabbed her arm and put my arm up to Hugh to make a chain to pull us up on the sand bar,” Peter told Australia’s 9 News. “That’s what you do with any family out there.”

Another beachgoer who witnessed it was Dan Conn who said he helped drag the children to shore, but then Oscar was again pulled away by the current.

“I think he was under a bit of pressure with the two kids at once but he was pretty cool, calm and collected, as Hugh always is I suppose,” Dan told 9 News.

Dan described Hugh as “definitely a bit of a superdad, superhero, and he’s a super bloke too.”

Lifeguards and lifesavers also provided assistance, bringing Oscar to safety.

Bondi lifeguard Trent Falson told 9 News that the actor thanked him multiple times.

“He said you guys did an amazing job, I think he thanked me about three times on the way up the sand,” relayed Trent.

For the safety of other beachgoers, the famous tourist spot was closed for the rest of the day.

Quick thinking, Hugh! You may not be invincible like his famous character Wolverine but you sure are an extraordinary dad!
