2.1 Million Stork Craft Crib Are Recalled After New Risk Identified

More than 2.1 million Stork Craft drop side cribs are being recalled due to the risk it poses on children. About 150,000 are under the Fisher-Price brand.

The Stork Craft Crib Recall sees more than 2.1 million from the US and Canada being sent back to manufacturers due to the risk the crib poses to children. About 150,000 are under the Fisher-Price brand.

They are recalling:
1) Stork Craft drop-side cribs with plastic hardware made between January 1993 and October 2009.
2) Stork Craft drop-side cribs with the Fisher-Price logo with plastic hardware made between October 1997 and December 2004.

The company is urging parents to stop using these cribs right away. There were a number of incidents where children died of suffocation in the cribs.

Stork Craft cribs are unique because they have a side that moves up and down making it easy for parents to lift their children out of it. But because of a faulty in the design, it’s possible that a child’s head can get stuck between the side and the mattress and suffocate.

If you have one in your home, please stop using it and contact the retailer for a repair kit. You can find out more info: storkcraft.blogspot.com/ or email them at [email protected]
