She may be due to give birth in March, but popular Malaysian singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza has no plans of holding a baby shower.
“I don’t have any plans to hold a baby shower”, she says.
Siti Nurhaliza’s tough pregnancy
It has been a long journey for Siti Nurhaliza – she has waited 11 years for this pregnancy!
She shares, “I have waited 11 years for this. This (pregnancy) is my main focus at the moment…”
Her husband Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa recently revealed more about their pregnancy journey and how it was a tough first trimester for Siti Nurhaliza.
Khalid told The Star Online, “It’s not as if we haven’t been trying for the past 11 years! Two years into our marriage, we tried everything.”
Siti had suffered a miscarriage in December 2015. She finally became pregnant last year after many fertility treatments at a private medical centre.
This time, Siti was advised by her doctor to take complete rest at home in her first trimester, to minimise the risks of another miscarriage.
She apparently used a wheelchair to move around the house in the initial days. Doting hubby Khalid even carried her every time she needed to go downstairs!
“I even carried her downstairs. It was difficult for her to walk. Only in her fourth month of pregnancy was she able to walk properly,” says Khalid.

Meanwhile, Siti hasn’t revealed the gender of her baby yet. Her hubby though, gave subtle hints when he said he hoped their baby would become a good muslimah – we are guessing it’s a girl then?
Elaborating on not having a baby shower, Siti said she and her hubby had already held a thanksgiving prayer gathering with their family members and close friends etc.
The glowing mummy-to-be has already made her confinement plans.
She says, “I will be in confinement for 44 days, but I will also be doing vocal training.”
She is also working on her energy levels as she hopes to the return to the music scene soon.
