Given its name, audiences of the Splash Safari Show in Singapore Zoo should already know that it’s one of the shows that will probably get you a bit drenched. Especially since it’s where the sea lions show off their many outstanding skills splashing around the water.
But it seems like this woman did not like the idea of getting wet and instead used her son as a little human umbrella to avoid the incoming water splashes.
Mum Hides Behind Son To Protect Herself From Water Splashes In One Of The Singapore Zoo Shows

In a video shared by a TikToker on Sunday (16 January), an animal trainer can be seen giving directions to a sea lion during their presentation for the Splash Safari show.
It was a regular show when suddenly the sea lion started to happily spin around in circles. While turning rounds, his flipper made water splash right at the audience.

The footage then pans to the audience, where a woman sitting right at the front row was seen carrying her son up to shield herself from the sea lion’s splashes. As they were sitting front and middle, most of the water splashed directly at them.
While the mum hid behind her son, the toddler just wriggled around in her arms and kept wiping water off his face. He seemed to just accept all the incoming water for his mummy as he got completely soaked.

Both netizens and the audience present in the show found the moment between mother and son hilarious. You can even catch a few people pointing and laughing at the pair.
Even the person who uploaded the video humorously captioned the video, “And the Mother of the Year Award goes to…”
Someone guessed that the toddler insisted that they watch that close to the sea lions during the show. Another netizen noticed how the boy seemed to enjoy being splashed by water while mother – clearly – did not.
Netizens made more jokes under the video by writing how the little boy became “the world’s most expensive umbrella”.
