According to the latest figures from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the Republic welcomed 1.36 million tourists in April.

This comes after a bustling March, which saw 1.48 million visitors, thanks in part to Taylor Swift’s six-show extravaganza at the National Stadium and Shinee’s one-night performance at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Hotels saw a rise in average room rates, while overall room revenue, revenue per available room, and average occupancy rates also climbed.

Interestingly, Indonesia overtook China to become the top source of arrivals in April, with 243,893 visitors.

China came in second with 220,444 tourists, followed by India with 106,703 visitors. Malaysia and Australia rounded out the top five, with 106,191 and 96,892 tourists, respectively.

Looking Ahead at Singapore Tourist Arrivals

At STB’s recent Tourism Industry Conference, chief executive Melissa Ow shared some exciting projections for the year ahead. The agency expects Singapore tourist arrivals to reach between 15 million and 16.5 million in 2024, with tourism receipts ranging from $27.5 billion to $29 billion.

If the upper bound of the forecast is achieved, it would set a new record for Singapore’s tourism industry.
