Materials:

  • Red paper
  • White paper
  • 50 cent coin
  • Tape
  • Glue
  • Straw

Steps

  • Cut the paper into 10 x 10 cm pieces. You will need two squares of white paper and two squares of red paper.
  • Fold the squares into triangles and cut the paper squares into triangles. You will get around eight triangles.
  • Trace two circles using a 50 cent coin and then cut them out.
  • Take one circle and a triangle and paste the first triangle with the apex facing the middle of the circle.
  • Now, take another triangle of the second colour and paste it. See that the longer side of the second triangle lies on the vertical line of the first triangle. Repeat this step until all the triangles are fit around the circle.
  • In order to make the final triangle, you need to tuck the right half of the triangle under the starting triangle. And your pattern is complete.
  • Take the outer triangle pieces and fold them inwards. The triangles need to be folded in alternate colours. Take the second circle and secure all the triangle pieces.
  • Take a straw and then add it to the back.

  • Paint or crayons
  • String

Steps

  • Fold a paper plate in half. This will look like the alphabet D and it will be your parachute.
  • You can also glue the sides or use a stapler so that the sides don’t open up. You can also cut the paper plate in half if you want it to be wall decor. The choice is yours.
  • Paint the paper plate and decorate it according to your wish.
  • Now make a hole near the bottom of the left and right ends of the plate. Use a string and thread it through. Now, tie the ends of the string into a tight knot.
