With Singapore Children’s Day upon us, it is time to make this a special weekend for your little kiddo. Don’t let Friday be the only day and time you commemorate this special day!

7 Exciting Ways To Celebrate Singapore Children’s Day Weekend With Your Little Ones

In Singapore, Children’s Day is observed every first Friday of October. For this annual celebration, people aim to honour the rights of child welfare in the country.

Every year many establishments commemorate this special day by organising kid-friendly events. Most of them centre on offerings catered for families with young kids.

Meanwhile, other places decided to combine all special holidays in October and feature events that kids of all ages can enjoy. Because of this, you can expect kid-friendly Halloween activities along with Children’s Day specials.

To help you choose where to go with your kids, we divided 7 fun Singapore Children’s Day activities into three categories. With this, you can let your kids choose different events to fully enjoy the holiday during the weekend.

Organise a Picnic

We encourage you to spend Singapore’s Children’s Day with a weekend picnic in different places. With this, you can bond with your kids by involving them in preparing their favourite picnic food.

Botanic Gardens

The Botanic Gardens usually offer various Singapore Children’s Day specials involving picnics and kid-friendly events. Here, you can either pack your own meals or order from their food partners.

If you opt to bring your own picnic spread, you can lounge around the grassy area and enjoy the view with your kids. Alternatively, you can book custom picnic spreads that offer comfy mats and cushions with kid-friendly food.

Gardens by the Bay

Most families love organising a picnic in the Bay East Garden at Gardens by the Bay. Singapore’s Children’s Day isn’t any different because the area also offers additional events that your children can enjoy.

This October 2022, Gardens by the Bay features A Spanish Serenade with Sunflowers at the Flower Dome. You can go here before or after your picnic and take mesmerising pictures with your kids and spouse.

Fort Canning Park

The amazing view of Fort Canning Park goes well with your kid-friendly picnic spread during Children’s Day. While there, your kids and kill time and enjoy the different playgrounds.

Additionally, you can spend the whole day in the area by organising a whole-day affair. For this, we suggest you arrange a picnic at lunch; then, burn calories at the playground; and cap off the day with a dinner reservation at a nearby restaurant.

Sentosa Beach

Enjoy a day under the sun by arranging a picnic at Sentosa Beach. Here, you and your kids can enjoy a dip in the water before enjoying your picnic.

Moreover, your children can enjoy playing in the sand or kid-friendly beach activities. You can either bring toys for sand castle building or book water activities like kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding.

Make Time for Playtime

During Children’s Day, various indoor or outdoor playgrounds offer special events for kids. Parents can either let their kids choose one or more destinations for a fun-filled day.

Resorts World Sentosa

During this year’s Children’s Day celebration, Resorts World Sentosa offers a special interactive exhibition that your kids will surely enjoy. A Minion’s Perspective Experience runs from September 2022 until January 2023.

If your kids can’t get enough of the Minion’s antics, we encourage you to purchase tickets to this limited exhibition. While there, you can take several pictures while your children enjoy the interactive games and play.

Marina Bay Sands

If your kids love various Pixar movies, we encourage you to visit Pixar Putt at Marina Bay Sands. This activity idea is perfect for parents who want their kids to stay active during Singapore Children’s Day.

At Pixar Putt, your kids can enjoy interactive mini-golf offering that features characters from Finding Nemo, Inside Out, and the Incredibles. While there, parents can join their kids and put their mini-golf skills to the test.

Dine In or Out

If you want to enjoy an intimate Singapore Children’s Day with your kids, that’s okay! If you choose this we encourage you to teach your kids to cook their favourite meals with you.

Additionally, you can make it a weekend-long affair by allowing your kids to join you cook meals for the family. Let them cook breakfast recipes, prep dinner, or stay involved in planning the food for the whole weekend.

Alternatively, you can let treat your kids deliver their favourite meals at home. You can either cook for one whole day and order food the next day.

Meanwhile, those who want to dine out can check out various offerings from kid-friendly restaurants in Singapore. We encourage you to let your kids choose their favourites or coax them to explore healthy food at different hawker centres.
