SG’s youngest National Tennis Champion launches Ignite Tennis Academy

28 Jun, 2010

On June 28th 2010, aspiring tennis players and tennis enthusiasts can look forward to a new tennis academy in town – Ignite Tennis Academy (ITA). Led by founder and head coach, Jaime Wong, ITA boasts a team of highly qualified coaches with established records of coaching experiences and international exposure and aims to offer our local community intensive, high quality tennis training at a central location in Singapore.

Specialising in junior tennis development, ITA will offer 2 main programmes for children between the ages of 3 to 18 years of age. The Tiny TOTs programme introduces the game of tennis to children aged 3-8 years and endeavours to establish the basic foundations for proper strokes/technique in a fun and safe environment. The Aspiring Youths programme offers intensive training to groom and prepare our young juniors aged 8-18 years of age who aspire to take their game to the next level and play competitively at a local level or at an international level (ITF juniors, US Collegiate or professional level).

ITA will be the first in Singapore to offer a unique College Placement Programme, assisting students in applying for tennis scholarships at United States universities. These scholarships offer students heavily subsidized or even free university education while training and playing at high level inter-collegiate tennis (amateur) as a stepping stone before turning professional.

Other than developmental junior tennis programmes, ITA will also offer programmes for all age groups and all levels to cater to those who simply want to learn and enjoy the game of tennis. Some of these would include programmes for recreational adults, corporate programmes, tennis fitness programmes and adaptive tennis for disabled children.

Ignite Tennis Academy is located at The Pines, 30 Stevens Road, Singapore 257840
