7 Telltale Signs Your Husband Will Make An Awesome Dad

These sevens signs tell you whether or not your husband will make a great parent!

You did it! You settled down and got married! Now you’re flirting with the idea of expanding your little family. Sure the man you married is a wonderful person, but how are you supposed to know whether or not he would make a good parent?

These seven traits are great indications that your husband is going to make an awesome dad!

1. He has a good head on his shoulders

A great dad has his priorities in check. He works hard to provide for his family, he’s responsible, and is handy around the house. You know—basic dad stuff.

2. He keeps his cool under pressure

The pressures of child-rearing can be overwhelming at times. A great dad won’t fold under pressure like a hot towel. He’ll rise to the challenge and handle his fatherly duties without breaking a sweat.

3. He’s loving and caring

Dads have to be able to properly disperse all of their love! Kids need it, their partners need it, even the pets need it. That’s why being a thoughtful, loving person is an important quality to look for.

4. He’s playful, but stern

A pushover makes for a lousy parent. Then again, so does a strict disciplinarian. An indication of a good father is a parent who’ll be playful and interactive with their kids, but also stern when discipline is needed.

5. He shows interest in fatherhood

A good dad has probably considered being a father at one point or another. If your husband has shown interest in the idea of children, it may mean he’s ready to take on the responsibilities of being a good parent.

6. He’s good with kids

This may seem like a no brainer, but it’s still an important quality to analyze. Does he interact well? How does he treat the kids? These are not only a sign of maturity, but a sign of how he may be with your kids.

7. He tells terrible dad jokes

This is one of the more important qualities to keep in mind. Okay, not really; however, it is an indication that he has a sense of humor. This is a great quality for dads. It’s important to be flexible as a parent and to not be too serious in life. No one wants a dad with little to no emotional range.
