Say Goodbye to Long Commutes! SBS Transit-GetGo Partnership Transforms Your Travel!

As we move forward, let's embrace this new era of commuting with SBS Transit and GetGo. Not only does it offer convenience, but it also allows us to play our part in reducing carbon emissions. So, download the GetGo app today and start your journey towards a more sustainable commute.

To make commuting more eco-friendly and convenient, public transport operator SBS Transit has joined hands with car-sharing service GetGo.

This collaboration aims to revolutionize the way we travel, promoting car-sharing as an integral part of our daily commute.

A Milestone for SBS Transit and GetGo

The partnership between SBS Transit and GetGo emerged from a memorandum of understanding signed on Feb. 26. Consequently, the initiative focuses on enhancing first-and-last-mile connectivity from SBS Transit’s rail and bus nodes.

With this new arrangement in place, finding a GetGo car near SBS Transit-operated MRT lines and bus interchanges is now easier than ever before.

Accessibility and Convenience at Its Best

Under this initiative, approximately 400 GetGo cars are conveniently located within a five-to-ten-minute walk from MRT stations on the North East Line and Downtown Line, and 18 bus interchanges that SBS Transit operates.

The 18 bus interchanges include:

  • Ang Mo Kio
  • Bishan
  • Serangoon
  • Toa Payoh
  • Bukit Merah
  • Harbourfront
  • Bedok
  • Eunos
  • Tampines, Tampines Concourse, Tampines North
  • Compassvale
  • Hougang Central
  • Sengkang
  • Yio Chu Kang
  • Clementi
  • Boon Lay
  • Joo Koon

What’s more, GetGo cars are available for rental 24/7 and can be easily located and booked via the GetGo app.

The Unique ‘Return to Origin’ Policy

It’s important to note that each GetGo car has to be returned to the same lot it was picked up from at the end of the rental duration. This promotes responsible use of the service and ensures the availability of cars for all users.

Promoting Greener Commutes with SBS Transit and GetGo

In an effort to encourage greener commutes, SBS Transit and GetGo will tie up with external partners and merchants to offer marketing promotions via GetGo’s “GetDeals” loyalty programme.

While the participating merchants and partners have not been announced yet, previous partners in the GetDeals programme include Sentosa, Singapore Discovery Centre, and The Punggol Settlement.

Pitching Public Transport-Car Sharing Combo to Companies

SBS Transit and GetGo are also in talks with companies to pitch this public transport-car sharing combo as a means to meet environmental, social, and corporate governance targets.

This could involve employees meeting at an MRT station on the Downtown Line or North East Line and sharing a GetGo car to the office, thereby reducing their carbon footprint.

While the details of this initiative are still being finalised, it’s clear that this partnership is leading the charge towards a greener, more sustainable future.

As we move forward, let’s embrace this new era of commuting with this partnership. Not only does it offer convenience, but it also allows us to play our part in reducing carbon emissions. So, download the GetGo app today and start your journey towards a more sustainable commute.
