Ryan Reynolds’ wants 8 more daughters (yes, you read that right!)

Ryan Reynolds’ wants 8 more daughters (yes, you read that right!)

The star of the massive hit film 'Deadpool' also brings his sense of humour to parenting

When he’s not starring in blockbuster flicks such as ‘Deadpool’, Ryan Reynolds is busy being a dad to 13-month-old daughter James.

Now gracing the cover of PEOPLE magazine as the ‘Sexiest Dad Alive’, Ryan Reynolds said in an interview with SiriusXM EW that he’d love to have “nine daughters” if he could.

“I can’t get enough of that. If I could have nine daughters, I would be thrilled,” said Reynolds.

Reynolds, who grew up with three brothers, joked that he “loved being surrounded by estrogen.”

“My brothers and I, there’s four of us, we would destroy the house. I was eight and I could patch and drywall at eight,” he quipped. “We could actually repair an entire hole in the wall in our house within 15 minutes. That’s part of the reason I don’t want boys, I don’t want a wiffle house.”

Reynolds and Blake Lively had their daughter, James, in December of 2014. “I wonder if we’ll have a boy one day, I wonder how that will go,” mused Reynolds. “A little mini-Deadpool.”

Fatherhood is a ‘relief’

The 39-year-old actor views his new role as a dad to be a relief.

“Not unlike most people, I’ve found there is something of a relief to it,” he added. “That you’re not the center of your own universe any more and there’s something nice about how trivial all those other little things you used to lay awake at night worrying about become. I think there’s something beautiful about that, and that’s not something I was expecting.”

His advice for new dads will make you laugh out loud

In an interview with Seth Meyers, Ryan gave the host, who is expecting his first child with wife Alexi Ashe, sage but simple advice for new fatherhood. When Seth asked him what to focus on after birth, Ryan told him to ‘do the dirty work’.

“Just do the dirty work, man. You gotta do the diapers, you gotta do the middle of the night thing. I mean, your wife — a human being will exit your wife, so she’s done enough. Just change the diapers and do all that stuff.”

Ryan also turns the spotlight back to his wife in a hilarious way.

“A human being will exit your wife, so she’s done enough.”

Any mum would attest to the difficulty of those first few days after birth. So props to this Hollywood star who just gets it.

Blake Lively sure is one lucky gal. Watch his entertaining appearance below.
