After much anticipation, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge finally revealed their newborn son to the world for the first time outside the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, West London on 23 July. The royal baby boy was born on the previous day at 4.24pm (British time).

Prince William and Princess Catherine have yet to announce the name of their first child but popular guesses include George, James, Louis, Andrew, Henry and more. In spite of 11 hours of labour, Kate looked fresh and glowed in the limelight. She was dressed in a blue dress with white polka dots. The baby was swaddled in a cream-colored cloth, with little hair on its head and its eyes were closed for most of the time.

Being a first-time father, Prince William skillfully took over the baby from Kate and seemed rather steady with the way he carried his child. With the birth of his first born, Prince William has now officially entered fatherhood.

New grandparents visit before the royal baby leaves the hospital

And of course, proud paternal grandfather, Prince Charles, couldn’t be happier to receive his grandchild with his wife, Camilla. Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, arrived earlier at the hospital to visit their grandson too.

After much fanfare and paparazzi, Prince William put his son in the backseat before he drove both his child and wife home. Welcomed with much anticipation and excitement, the royal baby leaves the hospital with Kate right next to him.
