Public Holidays For 2021 Include 4 Long Weekends

The dates include four public holidays falling on a Friday or a Monday which means long weekends for Singaporeans.

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) on Tuesday (24 June) released the dates of public holidays in Singapore for 2021.

The dates include four public holidays falling on a Friday or a Monday which means long weekends for Singaporeans.

The long weekends are for New Year’s Day, Chinese New Year, Good Friday and Good Friday, as well as National Day.

You can also get another long weekend in May and November for Hari Raya Puasa on 13 May and Deepavali on 4 Nov—both falling on a Thursday—if you take the Friday (14 May and 5 Nov) off.

You might also have another long weekend in July for Hari Raya Haji on 20 Jul which falls on a Tuesday, if you take Monday (19 Jul) off.

Public holidays falling on a Friday:
New Year’s Day (1 Jan)
Chinese New Year (12 and 13 Feb)
Good Friday (2 April)
Public holiday falling on a Monday:
National Day (9 Aug)
All other public holidays:
Labour Day (1 May)
Hari Raya Puasa* (13 May)
Vesak Day (26 May)
Hari Raya Haji* (20 Jul)
Deepavali (4 Nov)
Christmas Day (25 Dec)

It is noted that the dates for Hari Raya Puasa and Hari Raya Haji are still subject to change.

The list of public holidays for 2021 is available on the MOM’s website.

While Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has stated that the pandemic “will be with us for at least a year and most probably longer, until a vaccine is developed and becomes available,” here’s to hoping we can at least spend more time with our families during the holidays next year.
